Can they be phased out in anyway? I'm a new player trying to enjoy the occasional BG while leveling and it seems to be full of people who spend a little too much time and money trying to tweak out a low level character. Is this not the purpose of non-max level BGs, for leveling players to break up the grind and endulge in some PVP?

Not to mention the maturity of said twinks was that of any PVP scene, you'd think people on a low population game would be a bit more courteous. Never understood how people can get so full of themselves when they're PVPing in a MMORPG, where gear factors more than skill.

But then again the defining feature of this game seems to be tons of awesome things that aren't even half-finished.

Oh, just noticed that this is the possible cause of level 30 armor being overpriced, thanks again!

Twinks are far more profitable and drive a tier's population then the random person leveling thru. What you're requestings has been tried, failed and removed.

People being unscratched by 'normal' level 30 weapons is a bit much.

How about spending a bit of time crafting and harvesting, learning to transmute, adorn and tinker, and getting your toon kitted out with what is available so you can compete? Failing that you could just get through the tier quickly and continue your levelling up.

I've only ever played T4 once and there were only 5 people on my team. I suspect that if twinks weren't allowed to play, that number would be much lower.

Pretty ridiculous request, if you ask me... Anybody who pays for a subscription has a right to play. You can't stop them from BG'ing, nor can you force them to have crappy gear. If you're failing against them, then suck it up while gearing up.

Many of us play T4 bg's because it seems to be less intense than the higher end and until this last update there were always matches running. At least that's the way it seems to me.

If you're serious about joining in on the fun here's a few things to help you get started. Don't just make a toon, run it up to 30, toss on some quested gear and queue up. If you do this you're sure to get killed quickly and when that happens people are going to start looking for you.

Give yourself a chance.

T4 mastercrafted gear is expensive. But you need it. Talk to a armorer or tailor and find out what rare you need. Don't forget the jeweler either. You need rares for mastercrafted jewelry also. Unless you have a fair amount of plat you'll probably need to spend a lot of time harvesting for these rares.

Don't forget adornments either. There's a few that are quests items in Steamfont if I remember right and probably other zones, and then the crafted ones.

You need to master as many spells as you can. Again, this requires rares to have experts made and then you can research them to master. It's not to long of a process at 39. I think 2-3 days to research an expert to master.

Learn what these spells do. Most dps/tank classes have an optimum spell/CA rotation that will give maximum damage. I'm not sure about healing and utility classes, but I'd bet they have spells that interact.

You need as many aa's as you can possiblity get. I personally wouldn't enter bg's with less than 100. Try using different aa lines and find what works for you.

And finally, be patient and accept the fact that you're going to die a lot. Have fun and try not to get frustrated.

Staven

So you want nothing but fail toons played by fail players in BGs? What happens when the best people on the BG's were the junkers who had full Adept Spells and Treasured gear, then technically they would be the "twinks" and should be kicked out... so eventually it would be nothing but newbs in "island gear" with Ap1 Spells, only 1/2 of which are actually on the hotbar...

Hey, there's an idea. Totally gnaked gnome bg's. No gear other than weapons. App1 spells. Level 30 max.

The problem isn't twinks really. There should definitely be a power difference between a [Removed for Content] newbie and a fully aa'ed/mastered/geared character, but no character of any type should be an invincible solo monster. To see what I mean by that just go into the t4 tundra and look at all the zerks that can take 20+ mobs and half the opposing teams forces at once and never lose any health even without a healer.

It's the same with PvP as it is with PvE. Massive overweighted amounts of stats for top end gear that make certain classes completely OP. The real problem is SoE just has no clear plan on how to implement increases in power, gear is always 10x more powerful than it needs to be when they upgrade. And their class balancing abilities just blow, they listen far too much to the community instead of sticking to their vision and boost classes abilities by the same 10x amount more than they really needed to.

I've played in t9, it's a complete joke. There are so many great examples of how to do PvP out there in the MMO world. The dev's really need to spend some time and go play some of them and learn. PvP should be action packed, fast and furious. Beating on a healer or tank for 10 minutes or more to kill them is not fun. Yeah yeah I know stifle, stun, etc... But that doesn't always work unless you have the right classes there at the time, and no one class can do it on their own.

you learn swimming best by just being pushed into the water - if u can't stand ppl being better than you play another game. otherwise you have the best chances to learn to become good this way!when i returned after years of not playing with a char that once rocked i was destroyed in bgs by ppl wearing pvp armor which my old char did not have (he had legendary stuff on which was good the time back). but this experience made me equip my char, learn how to play the bgs and become a good player.
