I've noticed that ever since they did the mount changes, that whenever I zone into a dungeon, or even into a guild hall, home..etc, that even though I will still have the mount "buff" icon, I no longer have the speed.

I thought, at first, that this was an intended change, but then I just read the Q&A from Fan Faire that confused me a bit.

Q: Is there a reason that all Ground mounts travel at 130% almost as fast as flying mounts? A: I’ve been following these threads on the forums. When we added Leapers and Gliders we changed how mounts works. The old game of ground progression speed doesn’t really make sense anymore. We did a foot speed test. We compared all the mounts to see who could get to the end. If ground mounts move at 130%, with AAs you can go even more. So we wanted ground mounts to have advantage as a buff in dungeons.

So, if Im reading this correctly, we were still supposed to keep the speed from our mounts while in instanced area's, but from my own personal experience and others that I have spoken with, it is not the case.

Is this an intended change or is it a bug?

I'm pretty sure they were referring to zones where mounts are still visible, but flying and leaping are suspended. Further, many land mounts have better stats on them than fliers, gliders and leapers.

I think it's what Gourdon just said. In most instances your mounts aren't visible, in which case you get all benefits but runspeed. In the instances where they are visible then flying, leaping, and gliding mounts are grounded. I don't believe they have ever intended for the mount runspeed buffs to ever take effect in instances where the mounts aren't able to be visible.

Then what happened before hand must of been a bug, because I always had the runspeed from the mounts while in instance and now I dont, I noticed it severely when I no longer did because I was SOOOO slow. Also it always stated my runspeed was XX ( whatever my mount was ) while in instances. So, I guess that was a bug

Ah well, thanks for the info.

Since day 1 of the game, you've always lost the speed granted by mounts while in a zone that didn't allow them visible, BUT you still get things like the skill boosts and other various stat boosts.

It was on various characters, but Im guessing I must have always been lucky and grouped with people who gave runspeed buffs while in instances. Its no big deal
