I really couldn't figure out where to put this, so I will start here. I have started seeing a couple of glitches that I recently started noticing, and since my computer operates the same otherwise, I am looking to the game itself first.

(1) I notice over the last couple of weeks or so that when I log into my character, I've started seeing this really unsettling "zoom-in" effect at the start. It's as if my character logs in in some zoomed out third person view and then while I watch it races into first person view, which is my preferred view much of the time. So my questions are:

Is there a setting that I unwittingly might have changed on my interface to cause this?

Is this the result of a programming change that makes this the new normal?

Is it a software bug that is known and will be fixed in a future patch?

Is there any way my computer could suddenly be causing this? (don't see how, but ask to cover as much as possible)

(2) The second glitch I've recently started seeing, this one over the last few days, is that my character will be moving and will suddenly stop. This is when I'm moving by holding the left and right mouse buttons down. I will have to lift my fingers off the mouse button and repress the buttons to get my character to move again. When I do this my character will start moving again immediately. For this one, the question just boils down to,

Any ideas? I've never seen this before in all the years I've played the game, and my mouse acts normally in all other uses, both in game and out.

I have an older computer, for which I lower the graphics quality, but usually have seen few problems otherwise. The exception is periodic crashing when I forget to turn the image quality down and enter a fully loaded guildhall, or occasionally a zone area rich in detail. Then I just run out of memory, but that is my settings fault.

Anyone with ideas? Thanks.

I will add that I do have one other problem that started occurring a few months ago. I've gotten so used to it, I almost forgot. The game periodically hangs when trying to zone from one place to another. It started immediately after a patch some time ago, so I just eventually terminate the game when it stops responding and restart it.

While I do recommend opening a support ticket to submit your MSINFO, you can post your DXDIAG information right here.

We may be able to identify issues that could cause this but I am not making any assumptions. Let's see what we can find out! Instructions in my sig!

Thanks, I'll post specs if the movement halt issue reappears. It was there for a few days and I notice it's vanished again. I wonder if it was a temporarily introduced control issue that another patch cleared up or something that got cleared up on my system. I did do a complete EQ2 file scan. Maybe just one of those mysteries.

The zoom in thing is so consistent that I have to believe it was a programming change of some sort. I've generally been getting poorer performance than I used and it might be a result of that. What I mean is, I've been getting quest or harvesting updates sometimes long after the event on my end. Maybe the zoom in is something that used to happen before I saw my character in the game and now it's delayed and I see it happen at the start of every log in. This one is so consistent it just seems a program change and/or a lag issue.
