Hellos! Since this drawing I did can't be more EQ2 related if it tried to be I thought I'd post it here!

Backstory: My Warlock Ratonga Kikiriki loves to mess with the Half Elf SK Lord Commander of the Knights of Freeport. This, of course, is a VERY BAD IDEA. He's a really dastardly guy! But Kiki is such a brat to him, can you blame him? The two have been at each others throats for years! She's married him off to an ogress named Muggadugga, he's had his Highland Stalker cat shake her until she died! He even made a book filled with all the stuff she did to him! Yeah.... they're not gonna be sipping tea together anytime soon!

I had been wanting to draw them at each other's throats for years but never could figure out a good composition. Til now!

I started off with the sketch. I use a Wacom Intuos3 (PTZ-431W if that matters)

Then I decided to try a new technique. I knew for ages that Disney animators used colored lines when animating their characters so I thought I'd try it out. It's now my favorite method. I'm so glad I stepped out of the bounds! I also changed the pose on Kiki a little bit to give it a little more life.

Once I got the lines fleshed out it's time to start coloring. I make a dark gray layer in the background to use for contrast. Plus, if I color, then switch between gray and white, white wil poke through the areas that didn't get enough color. It's pretty helpful to do this with your layers. I painted UNDER the line art.

After that I added shading by selecting the blobs of color under the lines. The helm of Lucan I traced with Adobe Illustrator about a year back so I kinda felt like I cheated by using it again on the shield! I used brushes from Brusheezy.com for the effects. Slapped on a fresh screenshot of the Commonlands on chugworthy settings... and voila:

I have a super huge version, 1600X848px, but I thought that a little excessive to post! But if anyone wants to see it I'll try to link it somewhere!

Enjoy! I hope you like it!

I figured it'd have a lot of folds up where it bunches towards his neck so if it rains he can pull it over his shoulders!

Kiki, if you need some spot to host your art, I recommend DeviantArt (I know, the name, but legitimate art, really!). You can have a free account. I linked so it would pull up EQ related art as a sample, I also have a page there.

This was done with CS5! But I'm still rather new to the brushes since I really only started dabbling with it last year. I just finished a watercolor class last semester so I suppose I need to learn! I absolutely adore watercolor.

And I do have a page at DeviantArt, Sig!

http://superkiki.deviantart.com/gallery/
