Where are my old characters?

<p>I played EQ2 in 2005-6, and had three characters (all low level, maximum was twenty something). When SOE announced the welcome back programme I initially didn't think of going back (I already have EQ2X on another account), but later decided that it may be nice to revisit the old characters.</p><p>So after a bit of a headache with errors and such I finally managed to get the get running, and I got to the character selection screen where I was offered to create a character. It's as if my old characters never existed.</p><p>I guess it was too much to expect that they'd live five years without food, drink or a place to live (what with counting on me to pay the weekly rent), but I'm still kind of disappointed.</p><p>Still, I'd like to know if it's normal for the characters to be deleted after this time.</p>

<p>It's almost 100% unlikely that your characters were deleted.</p><p>As long as you have the correct login, then check the zone you're in.</p><p>You probably know this, but the European servers are separated from the US servers. Once the zone (region?) is chosen when early on the patcher screen, you don't then see the other region, so it'll look like the characters don't exist.</p>

<p>Thanks a lot for the comment about the region. That was it. Once I changed to US I found that I have five characters.</p>

<p>No problem. I hope you enjoyed yourself.</p><p>Things have changed quite a bit, apparently. My main toon was in Qeynos Harbor and it looks completely deserted now.</p>
