I know this happened awhile ago now but I never got around to posting about it. Seriously, why was this done? How was cheap shot overpowered or anything that it had to be nerfed to no longer affect heroics making it effectively useless? Cheap shot was already very weak compared to most other stuns, why nerf it on top of that?

I ask myself the same question. There was no explanation given and no one asked for it.

My troub is quite affected since I can't use it against heroic mobs at all which means I have no way of hitting from behind.

Would be nice to know why this was changed.

Heroics or Epics? I use it on Heroics all the time.

I've yet to get any message flat out saying it can't be used on heroics like you would get trying to use it on an epic, this doesn't account for mobs where it just doesn't stick cause they're immune. So I don't know where you two get the idea that it doesn't work on heroics.

However it doesn't give you the same duration when you use it on a heroic as it does on a standard solo mob. On solo mobs the stun part gets applied twice so you have a longer duration. Most often you'll see this when you hit cheap shot and race to the back and maybe only get 1 instead of 2 flanking attacks on the mob when it's a heroic vs solo mob. But it's also been like this for a fairly long time.

Well it looks like they either ninja-fixed it or it was never really broken and I just had bad luck with the glitch of mobs randomly ignorning status effects. It seems to be working pretty much all the time now.

I had thought it was just me - timing, placement etc until I stumbled upon this thread.

I wanted to verify before I posted, but on the descriptive text on the icon for Cheap Shot itself, where it used to say "does not affect epics" it now says "does not affect heroics or epics" whether or not it's working on heroics, I don't know. It doesn't give the message target is too powerful, but it also doesn't seem to do anything. As previously stated in this topic, there is no reason for it not to affect heroics, especially since there are a lot of mobs now that need to be interrupted from casting a particular ability and losing cheap shot negatively effects success while countering these mob abilities.

Before it didn't even affect single up heroic mobs, not it effects anything non heroic+.

Maybe it changed, I don't know. Here's a screenshot of the current ability:

The description is misleading, if you don't read the entire thing. The way Cheap Shot works is that it stuns your target for two seconds, as described in the top paragraph of the description (provided it isn't an epic target). After that two-second stun wears off, another two-second stun is applied, so long as it isn't heroic or epic. The spell works the same way that it has ever since it was changed from a long stun (it was six seconds, I think) to the two-plus-two stun that it is now.

I remember that change. 6 second stun was the bomb.

When they made this change both parts of the stun did not work at all on heroic for a couple of days at least.
