Ok so I went and purchased a copy of velious from Best Buy. I brought it home and threw it in my computer but my dvd-rom didn't recognize the fact that there was a disc in the tray. I growled a little thinking that they were flawed discs being that I tried 3 other dvd game titles and they all worked fine. I went the next day and picked up another copy, brought it home....same thing. So I growled again and then sighed and started the download.

I create a new account and put it the activation code. After I do this, it takes me to a screen that offers me the option of purchasing Destiny of Velious....isn't that what I just entered? Isn't that what was sitting in front of me? Long story short, it gives me credit for Extended or whatever that is, but not Velious. I continue creating my account thinking that maybe I was wrong. Well, apparently I'm not being that I got charged $14.99 on my credit card when I should have had 30 days included in the purchase of the game with a new account.

Fast forward to today. I finished downloading the client overnight. I start the launcher and instead of there being a 'Play' button there is an 'Unplayable' one. It says that I need a subscription to play. So not only did SOE screw me out of my 30 days that should be included, they also took my $14.99 and still are not allowing me access. This all after the security debacle where I had to cancel my credit card and put a security check on all of my accounts (played EQ1 for a good while).

No idea what I did to SOE but this is beyond ridiculous.

Based on what you are describing, you purchased a $14.99 gold membership for Extended. If that is the case, we can take care of that but you do need to open a support ticket directly. Feel free to give me the incident number once you have and I'll take care of it for you.

Now, on to how the 30 free days work.

A 30 day free trial period is available on all NEW game subscriptions created with both the retail CD-Key and our Digital Downloads. In order to take advantage of your free 30 day trial period, you must first create an account and then choose a method of billing. You will then be required to either enter valid billing information via Credit Card or use a valid Game Card to activate the 30 day trial for the account in question. When your billing information or Game Card is validated, your 30 day trial period will begin. You will not be billed until after your 30 day trial has expired. You may cancel the account while within your first free month and not receive a charge to your Credit or Debit Card. If you entered a Game Card to activate the 30 day free trial, the Game Card time will take into effect once the initial 30 days have ended.

So, what I am assuming is the $14.99 charge you see if for Extended, not EQII Live, and EQII Live is on free time as it should be.

Ok but what about the fact that it seems as if the activation code that I entered didn't credit the Velious retail box/installation to my account? Thanks for the reply btw.

And it is a brand spanking new account. I wanted to start all over being that I haven't played in a number of years and I was going to start on a new server with my guild anyway.

I can't ask you to paste your key here to check on it. Let's keep the private and sensitive information to the ticket.
