I seem to be having some kind of issue clearing out my memory when zoning because after 4 - 5 zones, I crash to my desktop. Especially if my guildhall is involved in the zoning.

Today's error message is:

Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shut-down.

<verify> E:liveeq2frameworkcoredevicesDirectX9RenderDevice. cpp (15853): Directx Error. (E_OUTOFMEMORY) 00c951ad

I have no idea what that means - help?

From what I can see here and with our logging, you are literally running out of memory.

What are you display options set to?

I have it set to a custom setting - this is the list from my eq2_recent.ini if that helps:

Please remove that as quickly as you can. It contains your station name and that should not be revealed. I've requested it be deleted as well. Whichever comes first!

Oops. Oh well. Anyway, it's a custom setting, probably slightly above high quality.

Somewhere between performance and balanced. You will have to go in there and disable things. I'd start with shadows and particles. Guild halls are very heavy on the memory usage, especially when decorated.

Blast. But the game is so pretty! /whine /grins

So it's just not unloading the older zones correctly and running out of memory then?

Not everything can be 'unloaded' like objects and textures that are re-used in your next zone and so on.
