Is this NPC really a Half Human or Elf/Vampire Hybrid?

I was always curious about this.

Not sure, he used to be invis in the room he spawns in and would be quite the surprise to an undergeared group trying to make their way through there for quest updates. Now he's quite visable.

But back then he was a "bloodlines" version of a vampire... male w/ the hood over him. Theres alot of names and nobles in Mistmoore Castle that havent had alot of lore in eq2 about them. Finding it in eq1's Zam quest dialogue isnt the easiet either.

Who says he's a dhampyre? There were dhampyres found in Mistmoore Castle in EQlive, but there was nothing special about them. I didn't know this one had any quest dialogue to confirm who he really is. As far as I can tell, he's just a mob with no backstory.

It was interesting to see the name but there wasn't any available lore for them.

Some things you can take from the name of the mob and the location is: It probably is a half vampire that can walk during the day as the name aludes to. Also due to its location in Mistmoor Castle (for over 500 years) this is probably a child of either Mayong himself or one of his upper echelon servants. The Dhampyre isn't chained in the catacombs but allowed to wander the halls freely, though invisabily. Probably invisable due to personal choice. Obviously hostile to intruders and not so to its fellow inhabitants.

So very little backstory on the mob, but its been around forever in EQ1/EQ2 lore.

I always thought of him as a daywalker who's job it was to mointor the 'daylight' servants....all those Teir'dal that are there, so that none of them might think to get uppity and open someone's coffin during the day when all the other undead things are sleeping. which is why he stays cloaked in shadow..so they won't know he's watching.

That's strange, because I remember fighting a dhampyre just on the way to the castle. Looking it up on zam, I guess it was the same Cloaked Dhampyre as it is now. That's wierd, because I could have sworn there were more.

Talathion@Antonia Bayle wrote:

well hes cloaked and walks in daylight right?

Maybe he is a Dhampyre?

Well, we've only seen the Cloaked Dhampre in Mistmoor Castle walking the halls (invisibly) along with all the other vampires in the same hall. In EQ1 Mistmoor didn't have a day time. It was always night in Mistmoor. In EQ2 it is entirely an indoor zone so it doesn't matter if it is day or night.

Personally I kinda miss my EQ1 trick of climbing trees and jumping onto the ramparts to break into some of the deeper areas of the castle without fighting a ton of trash mobs.
