EQ2 Wont start

<p>When i open everquest 2 the launcher opens correctly. After i hit play the screen goes black as if it is goin to load, and then the everquest2 mouse cursor comes up. After that it goes back to desktop and an error screen says "EQ2 client application has encountered a critical error and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvienience." I dont know what is wrong and would greatly appreciate help <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>
