I spent all day yesterday dealing with this error and have yet to find a solution to beable to play my account after four years. I have a ticket open but know it can take a while for someone to get to it. I have a Dixdiag but was wondering if I should post it here or just wait for someone to help me with my ticket? I have a feeling this can be resolved soon if I can get someone who knows what there doing, because Im out of Ideas and really can't wait to play. I tried it on many settings with four different characters but the error keeps coming up. Thank you for any help!!

Stackerz

Were you grouping, solo, or raiding?
While there may be updates you could run that would help better manage everything and hopefully avoid potential out of memory situations and there could also be background applications we could disable, much of this would hinge on exactly where your graphics settings are.

Custom is not quite descriptive enough and we would need a more specific breakdown. Try the lowest graphic setting, Extreme Performance, and see if you can reproduce the crashing. In the meantime, go ahead and post your DXDIAG information so we can see if there are any drivers that may need updating and so on. Instructions are in my signature, post the top 3 sections system/display/sound devices.

Visit the link below and download the latest drivers for your video card device. While there are new drivers available this might not fully address the issue. Give the extreme performance graphics setting a test in-game and see if you can reproduce the crashing with these new drivers.

ATI Drivers - http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo...13&lang=English

I notice your system has 768 MB of system RAM. With the 1 Gig of RAM I had in my system, I would get this message all the time. It usually only happened with zoning into a Guild Hall or a House jam packed with items. My system simply did not have enough RAM to load everything into memory. I would typically have to send a petition in to have my character moved out. In the past few days I managed to my system (which uses the odd RDRAM that uses RIMM modules) up to 1.5 Gigs. Now I can actually get in Guild Halls and what not and have not seen that message since. Going to Extreme Performance will certainly help to delay going out of memory.. although that setting didn't matter to me if it was a jam-packed guild hall with 1000 something items. Just I'd mention it as an FYI if it happens again.

In my experience, the single greatest way to combat high RAM usage in EQ2 is to turn texture quality down for players/npc's as well as for the environmental textures. Each step down in texture quality decreases the RAM used by textures by 75%, and, for instance, the first step from maximum to high texture quality often drops my RAM usage by 500MB or more.

Yep it is still happening unfortunately. I downloaded the software for my driver but it ended up being overloaded so I had to uninstall and roll back the driver for my grahics. I played after that for about an hour again (not really doing much) then it happend in EL while I was running through. Though It didn't happen while I was in kethelin. So now I am just trying to tweak what I can to make it work. Any other information is appreciated

What did you mean Mysstie by "Managed your system up to 1.5 gigs?" There isn't so much a fix for this issue as there are ways to minimize your memory usage so you do not run out.
