I recently downloaded the new launcher, now when I try to dual box my accounts on two different monitors I can only log in one. when I attempt to log into the alternate account the "Play" button says "Playing". Is there anyway I can get around this so that I can dual box two accounts?

Is it the streaming LaunchPad? Dual boxing is working fine for me with the Full iteration.

Give this workaround a shot. These instructions are for launching the 2nd instance.

1. Uninstall the plugin using the Uninstaller located at…

<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: navy;">http://launch.soe.com/plugin/web/Un...ebInstaller.exe

(you will have to restart any open browsers)2. Restart LP3 as normal (when you run LP3, it will download the plugin as needed).

Same problem here for myself and wife, we both get "Playing" when trying to run a second account on our PC's.

This is the new launchpad full download version, not streaming.

EDIT: Tried the link above, for me it claimed there was no plugin to remove, for the wife it removed the plugin. In both cases EQ2 now "behaves" and allows us to dual-window as normal

Try the workaround I listed above with uninstalling the plugin before launching the 2nd instance. It's not a permenant solution if it's a limitation on our end it will be addressed but I can't see evidence of that since I'm in game right now, out of the office, 2 boxing with the Full LP3.

As per my edit, it's now fixed

We only recently switched from streaming to full download (got fed up of having multiple copies of the assetcache) so whether it's a confusement born from that I don't know.

You think it was simply running the uninstaller or just one heck of a coincidence? I haven't had much time to test the workaround myself since it didn't actually stop working for me personally.

i am having an issue dual boxing as well, on the same laptop. I get the first launcher running then I go to the Exe file and when i open it an error message comes up.

< verify > E:/live/eq2/game/client/src/clientapp.cpp (3961):

No game assets found. Please launch teh game from the patcher.

00417f9d 00fd8128

I am currently streaming the game but i have been able to dual box on the same laptop before, i dont know why it isnt working now.

also is there a way to use the files from the extended lancher for the live launcher? i really dont want to go through with having two launchers of 14gb on my laptop.

The extended and live files are not interchangable.

If my above workaround steps failed to help, I do recommend getting our Full launcher instead. It will not require a second installation to multibox once the issues on our end are cleared up.

I get around this by starting the first instance with LP3 to ensure its patched then every instance there after using the everquest2.exe in the folder. I have not had a hangup since doing this a couple weeks ago when I got LP3

Oh the other issue is LP3 has no option to load Test Server, streaming or full client in the regions section. Whomever made LP3 simply forgot to add Testserver funtionality I think.

The Streaming LP3 has test server access. The Full version does not, yet!

After logging in to streaming LP3, select Options, test server is at the bottom of the regions list. If it doesn't show up, you are using the Full LP3 client. Might have messed up if you installed both to full and streaming to the same folder at some point and a repair install on the streaming LP3 should fix that.
