Oh FFS!

I can hold my silence no more! I understand that server maintenance is important, I understand that its 'required'... But why oh why, oh why!!!

Must you do it on Friday night when us folks in Europe have just gotten home from a hard weeks work and have been looking forward to playing all week!

We just get into playing, and you shut the [Removed for Content] servers down!!!

My guild were in Ascent tonight, and we were (for the first time) about to take on the epic mob at the end!! He wiped us a couple of times and we were just getting a handle on how to kill him when we got the 15 minute server down message!

ITS 10:45 here!!! Its our favourite time to play!!! FRIDAY!

SHEESH!

Art!

At 11pm our raid freezed on kael3 raid instance (second named), we had to exit the game and after we could not come back because we had an active char in the world. Around 11.30 we were back but the server was close to reboot.

Friday 12pm is the worst possible time for a maintenance.

It fixes some major crashes as well as introduces some new features like the mount types. It just wasn't something we wanted to push back to next week. The downtime should be fairly short. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The upside is that your raid zone should stop crashing due to the auto-attack loop problem.

Why can't you just come out and say you wanted to get the new SC items out before the Tax-Free weekend (that most states run) hits so you can catch a few spending frenzied fish?

I love how the boards are able to cook up some grand conspiracies regarding something like a hotfix. ^^ Rather humorous to see how paranoid some people can be. But I digress...

EU servers have EU downtimes. US Servers have US Downtimes. When I play a EU game like EVE Online, they bring down Tranquility at... you guessed it... a European time, which, for me, is usually 6 or so hours earlier, when i'm wanting to play

And with that, is it really worth bemoaning an hour long downtime? Get up and make a snack, have a drink, make a quick phone call, and they'll be back up again.

It apparently takes longer to patch in Europe than it does in the US. 2 hours on a Friday evening is a substantial chunk out of some people's play time.

There is nothing in the patch, according to the notes, that warrants taking down a server in primetime.
