View Full Version : Launcher refusing to work at all as of this morning (LP3)

I have no idea what's wrong, I believe last night before I shut down my PC there were some windows 7 updates - this morning I double click my LP3 icon for EQ2 just like always, and it simply does nothing, and hangs at the SOE logo in the center and that's it. It was working just fine yesterday, running in admin does nothing. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this same issue.

I attempted to re-install using the LP3.exe download I've got - even that doesn't work. Going to attempt to restore my pc to the point before the windows updates last night and see if that fixes things for now.

My laptop also refuses to run the LP3 launcher as of this morning. Also has windows 7 but I don't recall having any updates on it lately. Am a little confused as to why neither of my machines are able to run.

A friend just confirmed that they are also having issues with being "stuck" at the SOE logo and unable to log in at all. They're in the US and I'm in Canada, so I'm no longer thinking this is an issue with me.

System restore does nothing.

Same problem here. But Aion and Guild Wars works so I don't think it's windows.

Pretty sure this is a LP3 issue only, a friend using the station launcher was able to get into game just fine. But no one using LP3 that i know of has been able to log in.

I'm not sure what LP3 is, but I am also having the same issue. The launchpad just sits at the EQ2/SOE logo and doesn't do anything. I deleted the everquest.exe to see if that would force it to recognize that it needs a redownload, and that didn't work, neither did trying to install a new version over the exsisting one.

LP2 is the station one that incorporates all games, and LP1 is the very first one, like from boxes etc (to my understanding at least).

My husband and are having the same problems, he uses Launch Pad on one computer and the regular EQ launch and neither of them work. I also redownloaded a "repair" and it went through the motions and then just sat there doing nothing. Obviously there is a BUG. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

Sending a petition to at least let them know.

I use the streaming version of the game.

same problem here.

I found a partial fix.

If I delete the launchpad.ini he downloads a new one and I can get past the SOE Logo but window is messed up than. Can see only half of it and most important not the play button .

I have learned from trial and error, (aka-SOE's Tech Support-"it's not us, it's you" only to find out, No, really it was them, not me") that the problem is not my Launch Pad, or Computer, but actually SOE's fault. I would caution everyone who is deleting and reinstalling and trying to "push past thing" to give an hour or five nad things will be back to typical.

I run on Vista, and am having the same problem launching the streaming client. Like I said, highly doubt its me.

I'll find out what's going on. Getting the same thing here in and out of the office. We'll have this sorted as soon as possible. With patch time in about 30 minutes, it may be when the servers return.

I was able to bypass this by running everquest2.exe from my EQ2 folder, and I am in game now - but - that bypasses the launcher completely, and with an update due in 35 minutes I don't believe it will work afterward.

I deleted everything and tried a new install with the streaming client. It tries to load an old version of Adobe Flash which is no longer available, then the same launcher window appears and everything freezes.

In the Launcher forum there is a mention that Adobe must of did an upgrade and that SOE has to upgrade the launcher to keep up.

http://forums.station.sony.com/stat..._id=11500023834

Sigh, just starting a 4 day weekend .....

We're updating both our game and the LP session servers. Give it some time. The game servers are still done and there is nothing to log in to right now regardless.

I'll update when we're back up and running shortly. Again, patch day today.

LP3 not working here either, but I am able to at least get the game to download by installing the Station Launcher available at:

http://launcher.station.sony.com/

Hoping it will launch the game too, at least until SOE gets the LP3 issue resolved.

Slight hijack - but the LP3 realyl needs some work done to it to make it more multiboxer friendly. A large percentage of SOE eq2 subs are second and third/fourtyh etc accounts. LP2 the station launcer was excellent as you couls save your log in details and literally changing, or logging in extra accounts was simple. Now, to be frank, it is a ball ache.

I used to be able to select a character from the launch pad so that I didn't have to log into the character select, then load again into the game. At this point all my eq2 stuff is so convoluted that I have no idea what's where. I'm pretty sure I have two seperate EQ2 installations. Why can't I select a character anymore? I tried to do the download full version and download it into the same folder that my most current installation of eq2 is but it apparantly was the same thing because it just popped right up. Any suggestions?

LaunchPad development is separate from the game itself.

Questions about the functionality, or any lack thereof, would be best addressed on the LaunchPad forums itself.

The LaunchPad forums are over at - http://forums.station.sony.com/station/forums/list.m?category_id=56

Since your Wife's PC works I don't think it's anything router related but you could also double check your own firewall/antivirus software as well.

Here's the flash update.

Flash: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/fla...h_player_ax.exe
