To start a Templar? I've been away from the game for a LONG time. I've always wanted to have a high level Templar, but in reading the forums it seems like they have become the red-headed step child of the EQ2 healing world.

Really not sure at all where you would get that idea from Templars are still very good healers. Any class can get a bad rap if not played right (meaning for templars they forget to click the heal buttons and say whats a cure). Otherwise Templars really rock. If you plan on soloing make a inquis (they have much better dps) lvl it up then betray itll go much faster that way. Be careful tho Inquis is very addicting you may get attached! Temps are still very much wanted in grps. And more to the point, if its what you want to play...play it. ALL classes can be great and any can be fail depends how you play it. More than likely if its one you enjoy playing you will play it better. What server you playin on? If your on Guk give me a shout Ill grp w ya if ya like. (katanah, nassy, or khiah on guk.

Templars are great, especially if you are focusing on healing a single target. The only downfall to Templars is they only have one group cure, this has become somewhat of a mystery why SOE would do this when cure conditions have become more important than healing. I've got both a Templar and an Inquisitor and raid with both and they are equally as fun, high DPS doesn't have to be the end all to "fun", sometimes knowing you can keep the main tank up in a raid is much more fun than putting out DPS, at least to me. Inq is huge fun also, and they are very strong in DOV, especially in curing. You can't go wrong, if you don't like one just spend a couple of hours and betray.
