View Full Version : Greater Armor Ch!nk should not be getting resisted in heroic content

It's annoying enough that runes and adorns with fairly intangible effects don't log anything (e.g. I'd love to set an alert in ACT to tell me when Winds of the Tundra procs), and the direct damage ones are laughably weak, but I liked the idea of Armor Ch!nk (all of this applies to Sorceror's Bore as well) as a nice little debuff.

No. Armor Ch!nk shows up in the parse when it gets resisted (because it is heat... right, whatever), and on a heroic Tserrina kill the other day it was resisted 20 times; about half of those resists came from the doors. Maybe it's the fact that the effect is heat, my toon is a monk (hence does not have the Disruption skill), so mechanically this is 'working as intended', but seriously? I'm on board the mechanic of spells and CAs being resisted, but procs are mostly low-level so can we just have them work as the text says? Every so-and-so seconds X actually happens? Rather than paying ten raid shards for a debuff that doesn't work reliably in heroic content.

So damage procs are trivial, procs that affect the mob are not reliable, leaving the apparent range of DPS-increasing options reduced to a short list of temp buffs... "Yes, sir! Magnitude and Overbearing Onslaught and Cyclical Battering and Focused Destruction like EVERYONE else it shall be. /salute"

p.s. In retrospect I suppose I should have expected that that particular word would be censored, so that's why the exclamation point is used...

Thanks for letting us know. These procs have been fixed internally so they cannot be resisted. Coming to live servers soon (tm.)

The list of affected procs:

Repugnant Cloud

Discombobulate

Velium Flames

Phantasmal Siphon

Armor C...k

Sorcerer's Bore

Mocking Blow

Bane of the Kromzek

Draft of Velium

Elemental Detonation

Eye of Rallos

Harrowing Winds

Prophetic Affliction

Quenching Stream

Smoldering Affliction

Strength Through Sacrifice

Torrent of Incantations

Torrent of Rime

Torrent of Toxins

In addition, Quenching Stream, Smoldering Affliction and Prophetic Affliction now can be applied to the target at the same time.

what about waning might and cerebral destruction?

I had both on some toon at various points but I simply gave up on them, as they hardly ever end up actually being on the mob.

what is mocking blow by the way - that doesnt sound familiar.

Mocking Blow may not actually be in use at the moment (nor may it ever be.) I just noticed it had the same issue as the other spells on the list.

Waning Might and Cerebral Destruction should not be able to be resisted either. If they still are resisted after the update, feel free to let me know and I'll take another look.

What about logging on these things?

How are we to know Winds of the Tundra has proc'ed? Some of these effects show log lines, others don't. Consistency please? Pretty much any rune dropped in a raid with a beneficial effect doesn't log in any way.

And how about making some of the damage runes not suck? I know, crazy talk. I think it's quite ridiculous that these things don't crit or take potency. You're basically leaving them out of the main mechanics of the game by not allowing them to crit or take potency. Thus, you don't see them used unless there is nothing else available. Make this a worthy choice, and create a bit more of a quandry for those players.

Outstanding! Thank you, Xelgad, that's a big boost to the utility available in the red slots.

most runes should never need text on procs - all that would do is add lag into the game, for no reason.

winds of the tundra and such have icons that are perfectly visible in your buff screen.

since you're looking at runes anyway , is it possible to make the drop item heirloom please ? only the actual rune, after you open the package should be no-trade.

If *you* don't want / need that text, turn it off. Client side logging is configurable.

For a lot of folks, having that text available is important.

Yes, PLEASE make the pattern heirloom. We pretty much leave runes to rot now because we do not have time to swap peoples alts in to loot them. Its kinda nuts that we reintroduce the very issue that heriloom was put in to resolve.
