View Full Version : Problem with windows and reflections

I'm having a problem with transparency on windows. No matter what house I'm in, I cannot see through windows. They appear a complete solid color (I've looked through houses all over, including New Halas, Kelethin, Qeynos, Freeport, etc). Reflections also do not occur in mirrors, nor do personal reflections occur in water (not sure if water ones ever did occur in game in the past...). I have checked and unchecked the setting for reflections under the Performance tab of the graphics settings, set my graphics to all the different available preset graphics options.

I am aware that the Intel HD cards are not listed at all on supported cards section, however they are also not listed as not supported. Also, I have updated and tried rolling back drivers through a few different versions, although it hasn't worked on this laptop at all. Unfortunately getting a new or different comp/video card is not an option for me at this time. Other than this, game seems to be running fine. My FPS isn't dipping as often anymore (maybe once or twice an hour it'll drop from 60 down to 5, but only for a few seconds and then it's back to 60), and the lag spikes I'm willing to blame on me being on wifi until they get me killed, although I will say I've heard a lot of others complain about lag suddenly spiking to 1,000-2000ms delays. Anywho...on topic with my video issue...My Dx Diag is below, as well as 2 pictures showing the issue from my house in new halas (as you can see, for some reason the windows dont work, but when looking through the icicles, I can see through the window...) Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated!

------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 6/21/2011, 02:31:59 Machine name: TIKASZAR Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110408-1631) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: Micro-Star International System Model: CR620 BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.1GHz Memory: 4096MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 3886MB RAM Page File: 2411MB used, 5359MB available Windows Dir: C:windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 64bit Unicode------------DxDiag Notes------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found.
Is anyone having this issue that is NOT using an Intel onboard video device? Feel free to list your video cards and the driver versions. Posting your DXDIAG information works just as well.

This is a known issue with the intel onboard video devices that we're looking in to. If anyone is having this issue but is using a retail video card, like Nvidia or ATI, please post your video card here.

I have these same issues. Mine have been going on a long time now. But new today a couple of new issues have popped up. The mirrors are flickering way super bad. I turned up complex shadder, turned it down and still flickering. I went from full screen down to non full screen then flipped to desktop and back to the game and that stopped that problem. Another new issue is I use to be able to turn off complex shadder, which personally I like better, (stops the flashing of the water from one texture to another but not the jerking) and only one set of gear would white out (which I don't use now) but as of today the gear I have been wearing for a couple of months completely blacks out especially when I zoom into my character.

Areil

P.S Anyone been able to stop the cursor getting stuck in the upper right hand corner?

I've been having the issue with reflections in mirrors for probably at least a year. I got a new PC in January this year but I know it was going on before that with my old PC. I'm not experiencing the window issue, however. What I'm seeing in the mirrors is somewhat similar to the pictures above, but not exactly. If I look at a mirror straight on, it is almost completely black. If I angle slightly to the right (so character rotates clockwise or turning to his right) I see sky and faint gray clouds, at least in the Halas house I am checking right now. Panning left, the mirror remains black. But I know the mirrors have been black in other houses for sure, as I first noticed it on a Freeport character in the beginner house. Formerly, I was able to see full reflections in mirrors.

I did download and run the latest ATI drivers install but it is showing the version below.

------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 9/21/2011, 15:48:17 Machine name: OWNER-HP Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard System Model: HPE-400y BIOS: BIOS Date: 07/21/10 09:12:50 Ver: 6.02 Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 945 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz Memory: 8192MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 8192MB RAM Page File: 4614MB used, 11766MB available Windows Dir: C:Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode------------DxDiag Notes------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found.
