So what's broken with Quicksand? I seems to almost break and almost never roots my targets! While the roots from my Illy or other Wizards hold in most cases very long my Quicksand is the biggest crap ever. It's almost useless to cast.I'm T4 with master Quicksand and all skills maxed. So it should hold against other T4 toons in PVP but it holds crap.

Quicksand has a high chance to brake on damage. Inspect the spells, maybe it's higher than from illy/wizzy. Root and nuke strategy is not the best for a conji. We have a very nice unbreakable snare (or a tank pet). Quicksand is to fight more than one enemy, to put them out of the fight.

when using quicksand be careful with dot procs (e.g. our mystical buff).

Like the poster said above, Quicksand is for rooting an additional mob that you might have pulled. the spell to use is Winds of Velious. It has a nice slow/snare allowing you to kite the mob around an area while you nuke the *BLEEP* out of it.

As already mentioned Winds of Velious is the spell you're looking for if you want to take on harder mobs/players.

Unfortunately that spell will only become available to you with level 55.

Quicksand has the same restrictions than every other mage root. It roots with 5% chance o dispel. Still it does not root and breaks constantly. As I said my Illy can easily root and hold targets.I am 39 and speak of PVP so I don't want to root a mob and fight another but want to root someone that's running away and want to nuke him but therefore Quicksand just is not working but Lockdown from Illy is - same basic spell!

The root itself has a 15% chance to dispell on damage. Go back and read it one more time for good measure. Conjuror's have the worst root in the game. That is by design. However, we make up for it by getting one of the best slows. Like others have suggested, keep plowing through as best you can till you get WoV. Best of luck!

Ok you are correct with the 15%, my mistake - but that won't explain why my root doesn't hold in the first place. When I use my Illy the root holds, with the Conjy in most cases it doesn't and there the 15% don't even affect the spell, cause no one has hit yet.

maybe it gets resisted. Do you have unabate? Possible that you Illu has better subjugation/Spell resistability

I have Unabate and I am maxed on Subjugation... like my Illy, same gear. No resist text above the heads of the people, no immune text either.

Some classes are immune to control, Wardens for sure.

Some mobs are immune to certain control effects and don't give off immunity messages. Just how it is.
