I am working on tradeskillers epic, and on the Outfitters Errands part of the series. I am in the Nest of the Great Egg: Outfitters Errands instance where I am supposed to harvest 3 different colored feathers from different piles around the area to craft a disguise. Only 2 of the piles of feathers are targetable, and only barely, and they are the only 2 piles in the area that are below the regular floor level, they are in those indented areas. Anyone done this quest recently and was able to harvest? Ive left the zone and gone into a new zone, and nothing I can do makes those other piles of feathers targetable or harvestable.

Glaucus

I also got stuck on this step of the Outfitter Errands in the Epic tradeskill quest series. I have done this quest on other level 80 outfitters, so I know the feathers were always difficult to target. However, this weekend when I was doing this quest on a new level 80 iksar weaponsmith, I was not able to target any of the feather, despite knowing exactly where they should be and trying every angle and zoom in and out that I could for over an hour.

I wish a dev would take a look at this quest. It is possible the recent changes to harvesting have somehow affected this particular quest.

I also could not get the sarnak in Bathezid's Watch to give me the tradeskill writs despite having my faction up above -20,000 after doing adventure quests.

I have looked into this last week. I couldn't find anything that changed that would cause them to stop working. I think there might be some code issue with the way interaction with objects in the world works. I sent a request for code to take a look. Sorry I don't have a better answer or a quick fix.

If they can't figure it out really quick, we can see about swapping the feathers out to an object that has a larger area to click on. It seems like this is happening with objects that are flat (the same problem is happening when trying to gather reports in Zek). The objects do actually work, I was able to interact with them, but I had to clip through the world to do it.

I will keep you updated.

I actually just finished this quest this weekend on my armorer alt. I was having real trouble with this step. I spend a couple of hours zoning in and out. Deleting the quest and restarting it. Going over every pile of feathers in the room in pixel by pixel movements. I had even gone as far as drafting a post for the forums asking about it before i worked it out.

Try zooming out as far as you can with your mouse. The spots to collect the feathers seem to be almost impossibly small when zoomed in or in 1st person mode, but zooming out as far as you can actually makes it easier for you to find and collect them.

Frizz, if you can get this changed at your end that would be great.

Yeah... this quest hasn't been changed. It's just EXTREMELY difficult to find the harve spots for the feathers. There's really no good reason to make them 'that' hard to find. I found that the angle/zoom of the camera, and especially the angle I approached the feathers from made a difference.

Thank you Frizz for the update, hopefully they do get this done soon. As for switching objects, why not just make other chairs in the room the harvest spots like the one you gather the thread from? They are all above ground, large areas to target and would be easier to harvest.

Thanks again and I hope to see it fixed soon!

Glaucus

I just checked this out on live with Glaucus, and looks like this has been fixed.

After all, the two races are hostile to each other in Kunark.

The same thing that was causing nodes, bells, and NPCs to dissapear in Nek forest. It might be a computer specific error too or a loading issue. I'm not sure why but after LU-60 things just seem to load slower, which is especially noticable in guild halls.

I reported a similar issue with one of the green hood reports in Zek. Glad to hear it's being looked at!

Guess I will go back in and give it a try. As of last Sunday (6/12 - I think) it was completely bugged. I petitioned and was told on the 13th that it was broken and a known problem. I am hoping that it's back up because I have brought 6 crafters through these quest lines and just hit 90 on my Tailor. She is my first outfitter so I have never done this part of the epic line before. I am addicted to having these capes and was dismayed to think that her, along with my upcoming armorer and weaponsmith were going to be left out in the cold.

Yup it's fixed, thankfully. I thought that it would take much longer for it to be taken care of. One more down only two to go. The best part is that the outfitter quests are by far the easiest.
