Mmmmh, how to say that...

I just went to Champion's respite on Test and had a look on the new house items...

They're great, ok, nothing to say...

But... hum... yeah, I know, it's written "prstige items" on the merchant but... 200 tokens for an armor rack ???? wow. Could the price be reduced a bit, this is ridiculous.

EDIT: Just so we know what we're talking about, here are the screenies.

100 tokens, 2p 40g : Discord's Champion Balanced Scales, Discord's Champion Tipped Scales

150 tokens, 2p 40g : Discord's Champion Trunk (Large), Discord's Champion Trunk (Small)

200 tokens, 6p : Discord's Champion Armor Stand, Discord's Champion Weapon Rack (forgot to screenshot the counter. same as both items above iirc)

250 tokens, 12p : Discord's Champion Golden Rug, Discord's Champion Loaded Weapon Rack

Old items where 10 tokens, 50 000sp, 60g for flags and 40 tokens, 100 000 sp, 12p for the weapons of chaos statue. The hoverpad where just above said weapons in price (50 tokens and more status).

The items are priced to be a luxury item in a home.

They are not for players seeking to gear up. It should not be a choice between armor or home decor. They are for those that would like to have additional targets to spend their earned coins on.

Olihin

Luxury, yeah, that's over-luxuous to have one more weapon rack amongst tens of them for sure.

And could you think for a second about players who have to queue for hours to enter a gear instance (aka Valor, Storms and probably Sebilis).

Gods, it's TWICE the price of an armor piece, twice!

I'd agree these are a bit too expensive, 50 Tokens at the most for each piece because some of these look pretty good if you buy more than one. (( They still take over 10 games a piece to acquire at this price ))

P.S. I don't see that super cool Iksar Bruiser statue on the merchant either!

I guess I'll just chalk these pieces up as things I'll never be able to get. I have given the battlegrounds a fair shot but did not find any kind of enjoyment in them, especially as I was just killed over and over while people yelled at me while I was trying to learn what was going on. I think I'll stick to the "Questing" part of Everquest, and not worry about yet another cool decoration thats out of my grasp.

I participated in Battlegrounds and have a couple set of the previous gear etc.., so I know first hand how long it takes to gain that many token. As an avid decorator in the EQ2 community, I can honestly say I will never buy these new house items with prices standing as is. 250 token for a rug or weapon rack?!? wow... that's honestly WAY too high for house items "prestige" or not.

devs cant do math right, for that sick amount of tokens?

in my opinion, they are only worth as 10% of that price. that need to go down drastically.

Wow. Kinda ridiculous. I get that people who like to decorate also have other interests in the game but really? 200-250 battleground tokens?

I like some of the items, the armor rack is particlularly nice to me. But they're not nearly nice enough for me to worry about grinding BGs to acquire.

That being said, I know these aren't being designed and offered for me specificly. Or people like me. I understand that they're being offered up as "I have 500 tokens and nothing left to spend them on... what gives?" However, I agree with others. The prices as they are will likely discourage most home decorators from dealing with the emo-rage abuse from BG regulars. Which, to the BG regulars, could be a good thing. It's just sad that house items, nice house items, would be offered up and intentionally kept out of reasonable reach from most of the hardcore home decorators.

What's the point in dedicating dev time creating these nicely designed items, only to make them so incredibly hard to obtain in the game? They'll hardly ever be bought, used or enjoyed.

Hey here is an idea: How about giving us a separate BG reward AA mirror thing. You know one that can store 2 profiles so that people can have their 2 PvE specs and a BG spec too. This completely makes sense as a BG reward. (Yes I know you can currently put mirrors in multiple houses but that doesn't seem permanent.)

Please give in and make this stuff cheap. There should be nothing in game that sets anyone apart. Everything should be cheap and easily obtained with minimal effort. That way everyone can have the exact same things for doing nothing.

I know people compain and they do in fact represent everyone. I know all players hate to have anything to work toward that takes effort beyond logging in.

Just like in real life most anyything that is worth it is easy to get. Also when you have to put effort forth or something takes longer then a couple days to a week to get, it makes you feel hollow inside when you do achieve it. I mean, when you work hard for something and you stand out from the rest and show effort, it makes you feel like it wasnt worth it.

Please keep developing content that takes time to make, but people can obtain and get bored with wthin a few days, this is clearly the smartest route to take. Don't think for a second these people crying here would like anything hard in game to obtain, just like a 5 year old they clearly know working for anything is a waste of time.

So please, please please keep everything flowing in game and mega easy, thank you it is the fastest way to get people to leave. I mean games like AION have no customers because they hand out everything and people don't want to put any effort into it because everything is so easy. I mean AION crafting? Pshh easy, and that is why tons of people don't login to AION and play 7 days a week.

Keep on with the easy mode stuff, and our declining player base is sure to shoot up any moment.

I don't really see how asking fo house items to be at a reasonnable price is "easy mode".

If we do 2 battlegrounds a day on Storms we're lucky, do I'll have to grind for half a year (if we still get battlegrounds at that time) to get an house item? yeah, good move to make people happy.

they're called "prestige" items for a reason. would you rather just have it made where you have to win 1000 bg games to get them?

they should be free after you get enough faction, armor too, no more tokens.

"prestige"? can somewhat basic trunks truly be qualified by the word "prestige"? Why is a mount 50 tokens and a rug 250? Why is those items 2 to 3 times the price of an armor? The only item that is truly new here is the Armor stand, so I can't imagine any of those items needing such an amount of grind.

And yes, I grinded for 1 month to get the 40 tokens for the weapons of chaos 'cause I liked them (and yes, it took 1 month, because nobody does BG on Storms). I'm not against grinding, but those items are overpriced.

It would be something if the items were more interesting or unique somehow, most of this stuff is pretty generic. You can make a better "Armor Stand" with a mannequin and the pieces you would already have, and I'm not entirely sure if a 30th different kind of counter is all that desireable. Also, you can get some scales for about 200 less PVP tokens and status off the broker from like a level 30 carpenter.

I think I'm the only one to purchase these world wide so far... I feel really bad I accidently bought the counter twice and now I'm out 100+ games of tokens

This does seem a bit excessive, especially if the queue is only letting people run it once or twice a night. And I'd guess that the majority of decorators and the majority of PvPers aren't the same players, so forcing people to PvP just to collect those house items isn't fun. If you want armour that affects gameplay, yes, work for it. If you want fluff, make it fun.

On a BG-related note: do the BG quests stay in your completed journal, or are they deleted like missions?

Maybe we can fix the steaming pile of poop that is BG's these days before adding more fluff?

I mean seriously, we still don't have pvp weapons, BG's is buggy as heck and you guys are adding more fluff instead of getting the basic game functions up and running first?
Well, with all of the bugs currently going on with BGs and pvp in general, I am very glad the devs can find the time to make new furniture that you can get from BGs. Hey, there may be 90s in the low level bgs, people being placed on the white team, and tons of other bugs, but atleast if you bear it long enough you can get a couple of pieces of furniture for your house!
