I just got back from a 2 week holiday and I tried running my EQ2 shortcut and it popped up the launcher where normally I can click play in the top right after it finishes loading after a couple of seconds but nothing ever happened. All that appeared on the launcher after clicking the shortcut is the SOE logo in the middle but it never showed to the most recent news, links, pictures or of course the green "Initializing" / "play" button.

I've installed the most recent version of adobe via Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.3 r181

I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the streaming and full version of the game. After clicking either of these I get an Adobe Flash Player 10.2 Installer popup saying my Flash Player isn't the most current version. After clicking away this message I of course go to the screen described at the top.

A walkthrough fix by someone who understands what what is going on would be appreciated.

I'm using the Launch Pad, would start updating then say Cancelled. I clicked on Preferences then the Full File Scan Button; it finally checked the files & updated & I got the play button..took about an hour to update since I've been off 10 months..

I don't understand if the above post is supposed to be helpful towards my problem or is a problem that person is experiencing.

If it's a problem that person is having then I wish you the best of luck.

If it's supposed to be a possible solution for myself then I'm not sure it's relevant. I have tried reinstalling using either of the links found at http://launch.soe.com/eq2/ . As I attempted to describe above, after attempting to reinstall using either of those links I get an outdated Adobe message referencing 10.2 yet 10.3 is the most recent player then I get the launcher with just the SOE logo with no extra buttons / information. There is no preference button to click.

I recommend installing the flash update linked below. If you have further issues, please contact our support directly or review the KB article linked below as well. You may need further configuration that I cannot walk you through but we can provide the information necessary to do so yourself.

[Flash Update]

[EQII] Firewall and Proxy Information for EverQuest II

This jus started happening for me, too. Played fine last night, went to get on tonight, and te launcher gets stuck at the with the SOE logo at the very begining. I've tried re-installing the launcher, running flash update manually, and reseting my firewall; still nothing!

It's happened to me a lot recently. I get it working by doing a repair of the full client EQ2 launcher. It will usually prompt you saying that the version of flash on your computer is newer. Close that and let launcher run. Might try to rebuild / download.

Be patient and let it load.

A repair install on the LaunchPad is a great step to take.

If that does not resolve it, you ca follow our standard cache clearing steps as well.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

I have not been able to get on since before last week: Logon screen freezes entire computer and won't download updates. I had an activex error--fixed that by deleting a bogus entry in the register (suspectedly caused by ver 10.3 flashplayer). Then got it to download updates. Says updates complete but doesn'r say PLAY--says it is still UPDATING in the big red button that is greyed out. I followed the link to download and update the patcher, but it wants me to download 12.4 GB?!! Just to replace the launcher?!

Well, I guess I'll bite the bullet and try to do that, and if it doesn't work, I'll uninstall and then reinstall.

I'm wondering if it is worth it.

okay, I set my computer to d/l the full version launhpad ( 12.4 GB ) last night and went to bed. This morning I checked it and it said "Update needed (11.9 GB)" with the error code 1012. I checked the forums and it said uncheck read only box of the eq2 folder. I did that and applied the setting to all subfolders and it was able to do that except for a single subfolder in the mozilla subfolder in my Everquest II folder. I told it to ignor and it did the rest. Tried to d/l the full launcher again and it got stuck at 40% (while effectively freezing up the whole computer system with the 1012 error again.)

I rebooted and tries to logon the game just to see what would happen, and it redownloads a lot of icon_ files, says update complete, but the wide updating / play button under the downloading bar is greyed out and still says "UPDATING".

I have been playing since ~ Nov of 2004 and have never had an issue logging on that I couldn't resolve in less than 20 minutes before now--and there were very few instances of those. Looking at this Connections Support forum, it seems many have been having problems logging on since ~ 6/15/2011. I havn't been playing much since the Hack attack, but have been able to log on to check sales and to see who was on, etc. without problems before last week.

Can someone in support offer more helpful guidance to resolve these issues?

Thank you.
