So, I was testing something with a guildie of mine who kept crashing whenever he tried to zone into a dungeon. We went to Wailing Caves to test it out and low and behold, I crashed. Now I can't log back into that character and I'm not sure what to do!

Everytime I try to log into her, everything freezes up and it says, "EQ2 has crashed."

Please contact our In-game Support GM's. They will be able to get you unstuck. This isn't a performance support request.

Visit the support site at www.soe.com/support and open an In-game support request.

But it is, because it's not so much that I'm stuck in that I also keep crashing and it says in the description of this forum, that I am supposed to post here if I am having issues with crashing, and I am.

Neither of us had any issues zoning into these dungeons prior to the patching yesterday and now both of us are crashing whenever we try to zone into a dungeon.

Ok.

There very well may be a problem with Wailing Caves but I doubt file corruption occurred for both you simultaneously.

We'll make sure. Go ahead and follow the instructions below. If the problem is the zone itself and our end, I'll test that right now to find out.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

Well, I guess you're sort of wrong because it corrupted us both. I just went in and did everything you said, logged back in and I am standing in Wailing Caves.

I'm thoroughly confused right now.
