Yet again I have agro'd the mighty streaming client. Logged into a zone & wham, screen lock. User interface says I need to download 157.4k for the zone (my guild hall). Here's the facts:

Nothing downloading

Ingame chat doesn't work (don't rely on it anyway, too buggy, Ventrilo for the win) since the game is locked.

Hard drive is spinning like a mad-man.

Not quite sure what's going on here. Quite annoying to have to repeat this 30 second to 30 minute process for every zone whenever something changes.

Now, you'd think that as the game preloads it's assets (ummm... this means...?) it would pull down data but that just stays happily at 99% forever. I guess I should leave my computer on all night while it pulls down data (have to do that with all software, ya'know<sarcasm>.

Now, I've spent countless hours on the phone with SoE EQ2 tech support for a myriad of issues and have always found them to be extremely nice and absolutely not able to help

So... insofar as I'm concerned, the following are broken:

Shader 3 (and some features in 1)

Dual Core or Dual CPU load-balancing

SLI & Crossfire

Ok, I get it, the above don't work, but what about:

Streaming client

Ingame voice (servicable = Fulfilling its function adequately; usable)

So, my word-a-day happens to be Asinine (Extremely stupid or foolish.) I mean... my EQ2 client takes more work to maintain than a MSExchange array? Really?!?

Is there some maintinance I'm missing out on? Am I doing something wrong? Outside of upgrading(?) to a machine from 2004 (Single core w/ a single GT8800 and WinXP w/ 3Gb of memory FTW baby), how can I rectify this?
