Windows 7 - how do I launch the game?

<p>Got a shiny new super gaming laptop Windows 7. Have not previously used Win 7 at home.</p><p>Installed EQ2 from my SF cds, it installed, and the patcher opened but it kept cancelling and would never finish. I could not even play the game from a fresh install.</p><p>Then I got the entire download from online (kind of dumb to have to since I've purchashed the boxes all up till DoV), I hate the new launcher so copied my old one from my desktop, though I get this error with both launchers. I can run the game, but not without right click, run as administrator, so EQ2 maps updater can't open it which is how I normally start the game.</p><p>I DID right click both and check the box to run as administrator. It did nothing. I run as the only user & admin on this laptop.</p><p>I found an old post about getting things to run with like 20 steps, which I think is wrong to have to go through to simply automatically run a game.</p><p>Anyone know how how to fix it without doing some rediculous jumping through hoops? <p>By full cient, you mean the new launcher? I am not using the streaming client if that's what you mean (and never will). As far as I know I have never used anything but the full client.</p>

<p>I am sorry you do not want to use our latest LaunchPad.  The support on LP1 and LP2 are very limited.  Here in Customer Service we will recommend that you download and use our latest LaunchPad.  However, if the previous work for you, by all means continue to do so, but if an issue arise you can download the LaunchPad from the links above <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>And the new launchpad comes in a streaming and non-streaming (Full) iteration.</p>

<p>Ok I disabled UAC, and it went away. Hopefully disabling that never bites me in the booty <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I had enough trusted friends reccomend it also.</p>
