I've been sitting at the same screen for roughly 10 minutes now, I'm using streaming client. I attempted to shut the game off and when i restarted it i got the following error messages 3 times in a row, until i did a scan with the launcher....

after the scan i am once again stuck watching the dragon walk the corner of the screen slowly... painfully downloading? it started at 51.1 mb and has dropped to 49.5 in roughly 5 minutes...

I'm running win xp i'll post other info as needed.

I recommend logging out and clearing up the cache. Perhaps its having trouble writing to a corrupt cache file.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

I have a similar problem. I also run the streaming client and it seem like after some use (a couple of game sessions) some kind of forced scan is started shortly after login. When this scan happens I more or less loose the machine, it goes on forever grinding on the HD (a HD killing kind of grinding) and leaves behind an unkillable process that consumes the entire machine. Often not even a reboot can be done, I had to pull the plug on several occasions!

I had to reinstall the streaming client to fix this. However, it seem like the suggested clearing of the cache also solves to problem for me.
