Hello there, i'm just wondering if everythings going as it should when i log on. Since i changed my passwort after the downtime, i always have to login twice.

I use the Station Launcher. I enter my password, nothing happens. it won't finish the login process, till i interrupt the login process and start it again- without entering the password again- and then it works. but it won't work without interrupting and restarting the loginprocess.

I hope that its nothing serious, i keep my win7 up to date and have avira premium running- nothing happend since i set up the system, except for 5-20 updates per day . so i think my laptop should be clear.

Is that intended? Bug? Dangerous?

Dangerous, not necessarily. If you disable Avira altogether, does it behave the same? Antivirus can create overhead if it has features that scan everything that you open/inbound connections and so on but I am not familiar with Avira to say that it does that

update: shutting avira down doesnt change anything : (anmelden/i guess login, then there's "Bitte warten" /please wait- nothing happens till i interrupt). Or am i wrong here because i'm german on the german server? Figured that i'd be better of if ask here which is a good englishtraining anyways ^^

_________________

Mhh, it should not do that- i have avira premium for its gaming mode, in which it won't interrupt or throw me on the desktop when i play, which works fine so far. And i have the exes that are related to launcher, game etc on its whitelist.

And before i had to change my password, the launcher and login used to be normal. It was the first login after pw-change , first i thought that maybe the loginservers where overloaded, then i realised i could speed up the process by interrupting and sending the password again. I run the station launcher as admin, and set every exe in the installation folder on run as admin.

maybe time to test that new Launchpad ? If the Station Launcher- which i like very much, especially that i don't have to retype password after a disc- is going to be abandoned anyway, i could as well switch right now.

well, i'm gonna turn of avira the first time since i set up my laptop and test it.

Thank you for your quick answer

Thats one thing i like about EQ2- ask a question, chances are good you get an answer pretty soon- thats my personal experience

Edit: avira premium does check permanently whats running on the pc- as far as i know-and it does pretty well. i caught a trojan one day after installing avira by hitting a banner with the touchpad by accident. avira instantly popped out, yelling that theres a dangerous trojan it won't let do anything. 1 minute later - problem solved, as that process never even got to work. anyway- i'll check turning avira off now (feels scary >,<

What I do recommend here is making the transition to our latest LaunchPad. You can download it using the link below. All previously set exceptions in your Firewall and Antivirus will need to be redone for the new LaunchPad and EQII exes that will be installed to your C:UsersPublicSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest II directory.

[EQII] LaunchPad

Thank you very much.Just one question left : Do i have to uninstall Eq2 and the station launcher, or is it able to find my current installation (i did not change any path during installation) like the station launcher was?

thank you, thats what i wanted to know. I'm not the only one behind my router, and my boyfriend just returned and would not be very happy if i block our connection ^^

edit: problem solved, customer happy . now i can login without interruptions . i had to do the flashupdate you linked in another thread. maybe it would be a good idea to place a link to the latest flashversion on the download page, like

"To make sure you have no issues you should make sure that you have this flashupdate (incl. the link) installed."

just an idea.

wish you all a calm day.

The hope is that the better version works

If it has its own issues then you are stuck having to manually update it, unfortunately.
