I do recommend clearing your game cache by deleting the Cache folder locating in your EQII game folder.

Once that is done, run a full scan from the LaunchPad as well.

If the ground is still missing, I do recommend disabling Shader 3.0 to see if this remedies the situation. I'll head to that location and see what I can reproduce as well. If you post your DXDIAG information, top 3 sections (system/display/sound devices) and I may be able to identify any other outstanding issues that may contribute to this. And finally, there is a DX9 update that you may need to run but it might not be the culprit here.

[DX9] June 2010

When I had the missing animation issue I updated DirectX so that's already done.

I ran a scan yesterday hoping it'd fix it but I'll try again. Don't expect a change.

Shader 3.0 is already off, I don't use it.

------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 5/26/2011, 08:32:40 Machine name: AHNYA Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110408-1631) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: BIOS Date: 11/27/09 14:28:30 Ver: 04.07 Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz Memory: 4096MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 4096MB RAM Page File: 1812MB used, 6376MB available Windows Dir: C:Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 64bit Unicode------------DxDiag Notes------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found.
Which launcher are you using? Station Launcher (LP2) or the Full/Streaming LaunchPad for Everquest II (LP3)?

If your EQII game folder has a PAK folder, you could try to delete the zone specific files where you are having the issue, so any files related to TD or GFay for instance.

If its the streaming version there isn't any direct files we could just delete if it is file corruption.

I've visited those areas and they seem fine to me so I am not sure exactly why your PC is having issues but you aren't the only one who has reported similar problems though the locations differ. I'll report this up and continue to try to reproduce it but it doesn't look like its an issue with the files we are providing as opposed to something happening to those files once they have been downloaded.

Full/streaming launcher. I'd check my roommate's computer but he kept EQ2 on an external HDD and he's since left for the summer so I can't check without running a full install and I dont think he's got the hard drive space for that :/

Full and Streaming versions of the latest LaunchPad 3 do function differently.

Full has the PAK folder and you can delete the zone specific files like I described above. Were you able to do that?

I'd also like to note that I did not have this problem 6 months ago or so when I played last. I have a boxed copy of Velious on my desk so I theoretically could try to just reinstall the game but I'm not entirely sure if that will help or not.

No, so it's the streaming launcher. The game was reinstalled using it probably some time last September or so.

Not sure if you'll be able to reproduce it.

When I had the issue with the mounts you had me redownload the streaming launcher to see if it was an issue a new install would fix. I could try to see if that copy of the game works, but it'll take quite a bit to load the zone(20 minutes for my guild hall holy cow lol).

If that fixes it I *can* reinstall. I have a retail copy of Velious here on my desk so I wouldn't have to download the entire thing.

Edit: waiting on Timorous Deep to load right now(might take a while, using the "newer" copy) and I'll let you know if that worked.
Yeah tried to run the repair, then logged in on that install to my lock being in a black void because I parked her in an area that I didn't have textures for.

Looks like I need to get back to installing that. And probably have to redo my UI though I'm almost sure I can back up that layout.

So the new LaunchPad did manage to resolve it correct?

Are you having any issues with reinstalling at the moment?

Felshades
05-27-2011, 04:19 PM

No.

Just reinstalled from a boxed version of Destiny of Velious, but it's downloading about 2 gigs worth of "stuff".

Waiting on that to finish. Not sure what it'd be downloading though since I'd quit the game back in October, during Sentinel's Fate, which I didn't have at the time, and when I came back I had a 20 meg download and that was it.

What I was using that "fixed" it, was a separate copy of the same launchpad I was using. I loaded that, logged in on a character that was near one of the problem areas, and waited for the launcher to stream that in. When it finished loading, lo and behold, there was no missing geometry.

I'm not sure if the files were corrupted or the way they were being opened was borked or what, but I'm trying a new full install from DVD.

I'd prefer to not have to fully download it from the streaming launcher though; my ISP gets pretty cranky about downloading 10+ gigabyte games.
