I just installed Everquest 2 on a new PC, the launcher loads fine and the game has all of it's updates, but when I launch the game, I get the error message Everquest2.exe error - d3dx9_35.dll is missing. Can someone please walk me through how to fix this? thanks in advance!

I'm fairly sure you need to install directx9 if I remember correctly.

I get this error when I try to run the streaming version. The full download version does not have this problem. Why should they be different? Why should I install DirectX 9 when I already have DirectX 11 on my pc? That seems to me to be going backwards.

Also, you seem to be trying to install an old version or Flash Player. Windows 7 does not like that and that part fails. Why are you trying to install out dated software on my pc?

The Full version, yours, has the d3d9 file present. Obviously your streaming does not. The bigger picture here is that your system does not have DX9 installed at all. It should. Instead of having that dll in every folder for every application that needs it, you can just install it and nothing will ever have a missing DX9 files issue.

DirectX 9, 10, and 11, can all coexist and applications that needs specific version files or controls will look for those specific files or controls.

As for flash. If you have a newer version, it says you have a newer version. It doesn't 'fail'. That means you dont need this older update. Yes, we include baseline software to make sure it works if not present at all on the system, yes newer updates have been released since, No this doesn't cause any problems.
