Look, things change with security settings - sometimes w/o our knowing it, etc. etc. Normally I don't waste my time posting a complaint because I'm usually solving the problem and getting in to play - but it's out of principal at this point. Seriously??? Frigging again??

Everytime y'all fart on your end, it causes problems for many of your (paying) customers. Why doesn't your competition have this problem? I've played many, many MMORPGs - and sure, occasionally, there's a problem w/log-in, but this is just ridiculous. I've been trying to play this game for 3/4 months and... I just can't believe the volumes of problems I've had and that other people (posting here in your tech forums) have had. Now I'm kinda remembering why I left EQ all those years ago... broke, bugs, and more broke-bugs.

A paying customer just should NOT have to play grab-azz with their system and YOUR files everytime there's an update to play the game they're paying for. When am I gonna start seeing kick-back checks and/or game time to fix your screw ups? Like the mispelled norrath file, or the "delete this-add that" crap? I mean, I am doing your job and - sadly - paying to do it!

Read your many, many threads - I'm having the same issue; apparently, many folks have had this same issue throughout the year, and now again.

SOE - step it up - for real.

My problem is the station launcher gets to a point in dowloading updates and says "fatal error" or "problem w/the path C: bla bla bla, lp_temp - etc. I see support forum posts from months ago having this problem... still broke-azz files? Oddly, I played the game fine last night. Ya - I'm sure it's MY system that's causing the problem.

What in the blazes are you talking about?

BTW, every time WoW patches, I have to allow it access through my firewall. That's not new.

Most often than not, the game not working post a patch its YOUR fault/problem, not theirs.

The "blazes" I'm talking about is their [Removed for Content] patcher! Did you read the post??? I shouldn't have to delete a lp_ folder, or delete a file that is misspelled. Seriously, did you read the post?

Ya, thanks for the tip, but I already mentioned that security settings can change and that I WAS NOT talking about those items, or situations like allowing it access via firewall.

You said, "Most often than not, the game not working post patch is MY fault??" Are you effing kidding me??!!

So the game worked fine, there was a patch and now it's frigging my fault, seriously? Jesus, do you work for them or what? Last I checked, the "market" was for PC novices to buy, install, and PLAY the game. None of this is for the 'average' computer user.

I've "patched" countless games and I never, ever, have this kind of issue; furthermore, it's not once, but YEARS of problems dating back to EQ, and now EQ2. No other game, EVER, has had this kind of trouble, and the fact that one occasion was a misspelled file adds further credibility to my argument.

Your counter-argument just sounds like you didn't read my post and haven't a clue about some of the issues people are having and posting about in the support forum.

Seriously, go read!

Station Launcher continues to receive developmental support and issues that prevent players from accessing the game are addressed as they come up. However, Station Launcher is our older patch method and we do have a new LaunchPad 3 for Everquest II available that resolves a majority of the Station Launcher specific issues, such as those related to the LP_Temp folder and decompressing files.

The point here is that we aren't forcing you to abandon the patch method you use but it does suffer from issues that can't be entirely eliminated as the contributing factors aren't always under yours, or our, control. As such, a new LaunchPad 3 was developed and is what we recommend for our customers.

If you choose to continue with the older LaunchPad 2 (Station Launcher) you may run in to future situations where additional steps are necessary to bypass a new or existing issue. But we are here to help you work through them or get you to our latest LaunchPad 3, your choice.

[EQII] LaunchPad

Just my 2c's...

I checked the link you provided; that's the one I've been trying to use

I've completely erased any existence of EQ2 (well, anything SOE actually), and I'm going to use that link you provided and reinstall.

After I hit install (not streaming), and adobe window comes up asking if I want to allow that program to make adjustments. I will disable the firewall, but - just fyi - if I choose yes - it says the version trying to install is older than what's on the machine, so it stops. If I say, no - it just goes to the launch window and stops.

disabled firewall, but it didn't work.

When I try to launch the exe, the adobe window comes up and says there was an error - trying to install an older version than what's on my computer. Not sure how to get around this.

Is that the only error you are running in to right now? This is the Flash install we send out to resolve flash issues. Close the launcher and any open web browser windows before running the file itself.

<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Flash Player: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/fla...h_player_ax.exe

After 2 attempts I gave up. Back to the old, loggin 3 or 4 times, play, then an hour later crash again launcher..which btw, reinstalled just fine. I just don't have the energy or patients to figure this out atm. *sigh*

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game - that seemed to fix it. Hope i don't have to do it again - it usually takes an entire night, then I have to redo all of my settings, etc.

We need you to open a support ticket and attach your DXDIAG/MSINFO files then you can give me the incident number.
