I see many complaints about the class, mainly about how much better Dirges are. I'm fairly new and was wondering if ANY of the Troub buff have benefit the class itself. From what I read Troubs buff casters and Dirges buff melee, but i have also read that Troubs "cast" 75% and melee 25% and was wondering if they receieve any benifit from their own buffs? Dirge on the other hand I'm not sure if the playstyle is the same, buff the do recieve a benefit from their own "melee" buffs??

Slightly confused after reading many of the problems with the class.

Thanks

Yes we do receieve benefit from most of our own buffs. One thing also to keep in mind is that aproximately 50% of your dps comes froms auto attack. There are a few buffs like Raxxyl's rousing tune which boosts wisdom and inteligence which is of no benefit to us. I think the biggest complaint is no blue aoe, but over all it is a fun class and I for one enjoy seeing people in my group topping parse even if I don't.

Why is it I read there are so many of the problems with Troubs and their abilities and they aren't getting touched in GU60?

In all honesty a trouby's buffs are said to boost thier groups dps more than a dirge buffs their groups dps, but our personal dps is lower than a dirge. It is true that there are a few issues with the class. If you know the class well then you can do really well with it. I am not by far the greatest trouby on my server but I consider myself decent. One of the most important things to remember is that you are a utility class and therefore your groups needs come before your own. As far as why we're not being touched in gu 60 your guess is as good as mine.
