Recently i downloaded the station launcher (used to use the old game launcher before) and to avoid all problems i uninstalled the original game version. I updated it as far as i could, did the same for LoN, and ran a full scan for both, just to be sure. I log in.... open up LoN, go to learn to play and that is where i crash. I tried it in several places (someone told me he always crashed inside guildhall, so i tried it outside city even).

this is the error i get

roblem signature:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

Application Name: EverQuest2.exe

Application Version: 1.0.0.1

Application Timestamp: 4dcae057

Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll

Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.17514

Fault Module Timestamp: 4ce7b8f0

Exception Code: e06d7363

Exception Offset: 0000b760

OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1

Locale ID: 1033

Additional Information 1: 0a9e

Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

Additional Information 3: 0a9e

Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

I have a few steps you can run through here.

First, make sure the following updates are installed. This is the VC++ update and latest revision of DirectX 9.0c.

[Microsoft VC++]

[DirectX 9.0c] June 2010

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.ini

and

LegendsofnorrathLegendsofnorrath.dll

Alternatively, we do also have a stand-alone Legends of Norrath game client available directly from www.legendsofnorrath.com

Joshua, this seems to be due to an increase in memory use of one or both games. Less than a week ago I could load LON from within EQ2 while running on high performance settings, as long as I did so as soon as I logged into EQ2. I just tried to do that tonight and actually had to drop to extreme performance to get it to work without crashing.

Can you post your DXDIAG information? I want to run some testing on a similar machine and see if I can reproduce the behavior. Should help us get all the information we need to make a fix if it as you describe.

I'm getting the same thing now. LON will only open perhape once out of every 5 tries. I use to be able to open it no problem and everything I have is up to date.

It's really unstable now.

In that regard the seperate LON client...can I still claim cards for EQ2 using it? If so how do I do that?

Here's the dxdiag. And I just noticed a typo in my previous post - I usually run in high quality not high performance. High performance is where I usually drop down to temporarily when I have problems.

If you want to reproduce you can probably get it if you take a 32bit windows, run on one of the high quality settings, zone around a few dozen times and include some running in and out of guild halls and large houses and then try getting into lon. That seems to work fairly reliably for me

------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 5/27/2011, 01:32:10 Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100216-1514) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
