I am returning to EQ2 after a lengthy respite. While I was gone, I received an e-mail from Sony indicating that my characters would be migrated from the Lucan D'Lere server to the Crushbone server. I tried to submit a post to the Crushbone server forum asking how the population is doing but could not find the server forums. Have these been removed? If so, can anyone apprise me of current high-population servers?

I logged into Crushbone very briefly this afternoon. I saw no players in Neriak, saw only a few comments in trade channel, and saw only two parties listed in the LFG window. I hope this is not indicative of where things stand on Crushbone. I would like to level my illusionist and warlock by running instances with groups.

Not sure what time you tried logging in or what level you currently are, but Crushbone is one of the higher population servers, after Antonia Bayle/Nagafen. Like most servers it is top heavy, so groups can be sparse in the lower levels. Also there is a bonus exp period going on, and unlike most bonus exp weekends I'm seeing very little grouping in level chat aside from Velious groups. I suspect many people are busy PLing alts and don't feel like getting into level appropriate dungeons. Also because of the bonus exp as well as guild halls (not sure how long it's been for you, but no one hangs out in cities anymore), people aren't really loitering around the cities aside for maybe some random crafters that don't have a guildhall to craft in.

There also have been issues on Crushbone lately with people spamming plat sales in the auction channel, so many have it turned off. The server forums are gone and have been for a while - the only forum I know of that still has server forums is flames.

Thanks for the prompt reply! My characters are low level--22 and 36. I had locked their adventuring XP to focus on earning AA XP. AA's were hard to come by the last time I played (prior to TSO).

Would you suggest that I try to join a guild if I want to run (level-appropriate) instances? I'll go online later tonight to see if things look less bleak in LFG.

I was also on LDL before the merge with Crushbone. When I'm on my characters that aren't 90th, I do usually turn on 1-9 chat. Yes, it can be..erm..unique sometimes with the drama, but I do see a good amount of activitiy on it usually that isn't pure drama or drivel too, including people of all levels using it to LFG.

I'd agree that auction is semi-dead, due to the plat spammers that were mentioned. They seem gone now, but I suspect a lot of people haven't turned back on auction chat. Half of the items being sold from t9 raids are being sold in 80-89 instead of auction still, due to this (I assume).

It might not be a good resource to look for groups, but for just chatting I always liked crafting channel, both on LDL and now on Crushbone. I've never been flamed for not talking about crafting anyway, and usually someone will talk about things on it.

You should play on Antonia Bayle for PvE, or Nagafen if you like PvP.

So there is that to consider.
