Simple question... Does the spell description on say, something like Mesmerize VII (lvl 77), where it says

"Resistibility increases against targets higher than level 106"

actually hold true in game?

Meaning, since Mesmerize VII Master is 41% harder to resist, and Mesmerize VIII Expert is 36% harder to resist, and according to Mesmerize VII Master, it doesnt increase resistability until mobs are 106, would it mean that the lvl 77 Master would be just as good as the Lvl 87 Master, and thus better then the lvl 87 Expert? Seeing as how there aren't mobs 106 in DoV...

It seems to me upgrading T8 Masters like this, where only resistability is changed, is not worth the time / effort / plat...

Is this true in game? Or is it another one of SOE Math calculations where 100 actually = 150 kinda thing?

Generally duration increases as the tier increases on control effects like Mez, Daze, Stun and Root.

From what i have heard Charm also falls into this category. the Master of any tear that can do the mobs you are dealing with is better then any newer Expert, but the higher lvl masters will have... something more...

Back when weapon and casting skills were hard capped, there was a difference. The cap on those skills was 6 times the level of the ability or weapon you were using, iirc. So that means that the high lever spell woud use a higher subjugation, so be harder to resist.

If that still applies now, I don't know.

A spell's resistability is not in any way affected by the actual level of the spell. This is why some spells state that "resistability increases against targets higher than level #", because that effect is the only reason you actually need switch to higher level versions of the spell. This is also why spells like charms tend to add additional duration or out-of-combat regeneration on higher-level versions of a spell, because the level 20 charm spell would otherwise be just as effective as the level 80 charm spell.

I have purposefully abused this fact on my necromancer in the past. I got the master version of the lowest-level version of Mortality Mark (the stamina debuff) and then proceeded to toggle it on and off repeatedly to trigger Tainted Heals. I was basically using it as a resistible pet heal with a 4 second recast, so I didn't care that the actual debuff value was weak, only that the master version was rarely resisted, and that it cost basically no power to cast constantly (obviously, this becomes less important once you get Lich).

But yeah, in the case of Forced Hesitation, there is no real reason to bother switching to FH7 if you've already mastered FH6, unless you expect to be facing level 103 MOBs or higher (in which case I probably wouldn't suggest relying on roots, anyway!)
