Multiple Home Ownership went live in EQII today! This may change in the future as we evaluate the feature and the effect on the server.

What kinds of houses can I own?

You can own any combination of up to 10 houses that you want, assuming you have the necessary prerequisites to purchase those houses.

“Standard houses” are the original city houses located in the six player cities of Qeynos, Freeport, Kelethin, Neriak, Gorowyn, and New Halas; plus the Maj’dul housing earned through the Courts of Maj’dul. The houses in the six player cities have until now required citizenship in that city to purchase them; this is being changed so that only alignment is required. Example: if you are a citizen of a “good” aligned city (e.g. Qeynos), you will now be able to purchase houses in other “good” aligned cities (e.g. Kelethin or New Halas).

“Prestige Homes” are new, unique styled houses that may be acquired from multiple sources including LoN rewards, veteran player rewards, Station Marketplace purchases, collector’s edition bonuses, and more. These are not tied to any specific city or alignment. Currently most of these are accessed via portals in South Qeynos (near Bayle Court) and South Freeport (near Justice Road). In the longer term we plan to change this to a custom interface that can be available in all player cities.

South Qeynos Prestige Home Access

The yardsale looking house interface area is a pet peeve of mine. I'll buy whichever gets a real interface in a logical location first!

LOL, thanks too for the 10 per player restriction. Seeing as I have 6 characters, each with their own unique home, spread over 2 servers already, I can't get overly carried away. Then again, with luck the custom interfaces will be in by the time I finish decorating my characters' current homes. But maybe just one little prestige hub house on each server....

I currently havde 10 characters, and if I buy one of my old character slots back that I used to have on Station Access, I'll have 11. Does this mean one of my characters doesn't get to have a house, if it's 10 houses per account, once I get my 11th character back? You say "per person", but person could mean character, or it could mean subscription (as some people have more than one account).

Even without that 11th character, it would be nice to now have a few of my characters with more than one house, but if it's 10 per account then basically if you have alot of characters this new feature means nothing. I'm hoping it's per character, although the load on the servers for that might get out of hand . . .

Its 10 houses per character, not per account.

I finally got to claim my two prestige houses!

I love the "Go To Housing" from the guild hall housing portal. Unfortunately I exited a Qeynos house accidently and got splatted by the guards...twice...before I could revive outside. Good times! lol

It's 10 per character. With 11 characters you could have 110 homes.

Regarding the 10 houses per person. I take it person refers to character rather than player then. That's an awful lot of houses....I can't even finish decorating my one per character housing!

edit: Got to look at the houses and I agree with some of the testers who posted about the smallness of the dojo. It would be my favorite if it had even a small courtyard.

Nice work

Have you considered making the Tower of the Moon into a prestige house? (in Maj'dul) that would be awesome!

I'm quite pleased with everything except that regular/standard housing doesn't seem to get a portal object. (If it does and I've missed it, I'm very sorry!) But one of the things I intended to do was extend my character's house, but, right now, the only housing that can be directly linked from my main house are the prestige locations.

Please tell me I missed something! Otherwise, I think my only desire would be some kind of portal to the standard housing.

You really only need one prestige to get the connections rolling. Can even put portals in alts houses and start connecting everyone to the hub.

Is there a way to unlink a home? In the initial testing out I just began dropping portals in houses but now that I am wanting more order to it and a cleaner access window. I cant seem to unlink the homes. I pick the portal up into my inventory, zone out then back in and it has reappeared and is still in the access window. Am I just overlooking something? Any help would be appreciated.

Once I figured out the bit with using the portals to make the prestige house into a hub, life got better. Still, I have one glaring complaint: the Magic Door to Guild Hall is Lore. This...gets aggravating fast.

To wit: I have 5 houses on my main. One pre-existed this update, so it already had the magic door. So I go to QH and pick up 1 magic door. Then I go to one of my houses and place the door. I have to go back to QH and repeat the process with each house. Because they are lore, I cannot purchase multiple. Because they are tied to your specific city still, I cannot pick up a door in Kelethin for my acorn and in New Halas for my manor.

Granted, I only had to go through this pain and suffering this first time around, but if I wanted to get multiple houses on all of my characters, that's going to get old extra specially fast.

Anyway, lest I seem to be complaining too much, I do love the multiple house ownership bit. Tweak this stuff a little and I think we'll have a really really good system.

Love this new feature as I new I would, especially that I have gotten the hang of the portals. Once you start using them they are simple to use and it is very easy to string all houses of all toons together. Takes some time of course to get everyone's portals everywhere they need to be but I am letting them all carry a few around with them to use as the situation arises.

I will say that the lore Guild Hall doors can get a bit annoying but at least once I get these new seven up I will only have to do new ones. I have also had to place a lot of express boxes and market boards in order to simplify my new glamorous lifestyle.

Thanks to all who put this together including you all who tested it. Great job.

This has happened several times now.

EXACTLY! lol...

just wait now...when you logout for a bit and come back, you will have tons of "overflow" of portals too in your inventory
