Alright, so today prestige housing launched and Ive got to say Im both happy and disappointed at the same time. Happy because new housing is available and I can blow my shiney plats on multiple houses per character. I no longer need to roll an alt to build a tinkered themed lab in every city!

What I was slightly disappointed about was the lack of airship and veteran mansion offers. I know that it may not be the most popular idea with the veterans or the fan faire attendees, but I for one would absolutely LOVE to see the air ship offered on the SC market. And on top of that, I wouldnt mind shelling out some cash to get one - and Im not the only one. If people are willing to pay money to get a house just like the fan fairers did, I really dont see why we cant do the same thing.

So the question Im asking is... Does anyone know if the veteran mansion or the air ship will be offered in the SC any time soon? Crossing my fingers for the air ship!

I for one would definately be down for an airship themed house, seeing the skiff was awesome, would gladly throw sc cash at a airship prestige home, doesnt have to be the skiff either just any kind of airship

Im with you guys. Id throw some cash at a airship/skiff house.

They wouldnt even have to make a new house really. Theyve already got the sky skiff model and everything. All theyd have to do is sell it to us.

"All They'd have to do is sell it to us."

You know, I suppose I wouldn't be too horribly upset at the Skiff being offered for SC as long as it cost at least as much as the $129.00 it cost us to get it, even if like me, you couldn't actually attend FF.

And then there's the seven years of uninterrupted payments acknowledged by the MMC house.

It might be cheaper as well as less disruptive to campaign for "something like" which I'd bet they already have on the drawing board.

You didnt pay 129.99 for the sky skiff, you payed 129.99 for a trip to las vegas, admitance to the faire, ex ex. Id say about 29 bucks of that was probably the sky skiff. Asking someone to pay the 29 bucks that the fan faire people did isnt unreasonable.

And 7 years of uninterupted payments... heres the way I see it. You can pay 20 or 30 bucks for the house or you can wait 7 years. If your willing to pay 20 or 30 bucks for it instead of wait then you should have the right to do that. I personally dont want the house, Im just saying that it ought to be peoples choice to wait or pay.

I don't think either should be for sale as they are. I think it's nice that there's something kinda unique for those who've been playing for so long, and for those who went to/paid for the Fan Faire ticket. If they wanted to add similar items, I'd be all for it (especially since I don't have a skiff, and they're pretty neat), but I wouldn't want to see the exact zones for sale.

If you want to make an airship...make it an actual airship, not the quasi-techno creation that the skiff represents. A zeppelin holding up a graceful gondola, the only 'tech' apparent being the 'engine' at the back (or whatever). The skiff (and the veteran house) should remain unique to those who qualified for them. And to be fair, I would very much like a skiff. But I didn't go to Fan Faire - so, too bad. I'll live.

That said, there should be no issue in making new housing based on the old designs. Reason being - the base design is already there, it would take a minimum of effort to make it into something that could be offered up on the Station Marketplace. The house, for example, would not look out on the Loping Plains, but perhaps over a vista in the Butcherblock Mountains or something similar. I personally would very much enjoy a home in the Butcherblocks - some of those rooms in the mountainside would be awesome hideaways. Enough faction with the Iontoe Brigade or something as a prerequisite for purchase (or whatever).

They would need to figure out how to make a version that isn't as good as the one from Fan Faire. Then they could sell it and it would be OK.

Paying for something just to get the perk only shows the level of financial abilitiy and responsiblity of the person - kind of like paying for a cruise just to get the gift bobble head. If you got it, flaunt it. Interesting side thought - wonder what the attitude toward station cash is for those that did this is.

Another point, they paid for the ability to attend the functin, they chose not to attend, does not change the original intent and reason of the sale of the TICKET to fain faire. Same thing on the original SA, the cost of SA was for the ability to play the games, the slots where an added perk - if the subscriber decided to pay for the SA and not use the extra games, then they still payed for the ability and made the personal decision to only take the BONUS ability, changes nothing, the cost is still for the ability not the bonus

While we are discussing this under the auspices of SOE's profit mentality (which is perfect, make money for the stock holders). unique rewards - IE the fan faire skiff, the 7 years house, etc should never be placed on station cash in their original form, heavily modified, yes, original form no.

Unless it has already been annouced it will be really interesting to see how the premium housing that they announced it going to be made available, even if SOE gives it free there will be a firestorm of complaints, SC, raid dropped, loot dropped it will definately upset some faction of the SOE subscribers

wingrider, totally unclear on why you focused on three words of my entire post and ignored the rest. the argument is invalid bc you focused on the wrong thing. actually your post left me confused. are you for or against mimicking these items in the marketplace? you seem to argue for both sides, unless i misunderstood what you were typing.

anyway, here's the important parts, that were ignored:

i would *not* support this. doing something like this would be the same as suddenly selling or making available the CE items from boxes.
In all honesty, I wouldn't mind seeing a decent sized island (Similar to the Isle of Refuge) that we could build upon. I'd enjoy something like that. About the skiff? No. Leave it as is as a 2010? FF gift to those who purchased a FF pass that year. About the Vet Crag Estate? Again, no. It would cheapen the 7 years of loyalty to this game we all play and love. So, yeah. I'd love to see an island "home" that we can build upon. That would be just about perfect in my honest opinion!

They are releasing a "home" that is a blank slate of land of one of the islands in Tenebrous Tangle complete with waterfalls. Though a little different than what you were mentioning, still am very excited to see this.

People are still doing it, when they found out the new all access did not include bonus slots there was a large thread on how SOE was being unfair.
