How do you engage this boss?

We have the fish suits, we have people suited up, but as soon as we run in, he AOE's and kills everyone.

We've tried having the people with suits stand in the water, he AOE's and kills everyone.

We've tried to have the people in the suits stand on the circle things and he AOE's and kills everyone.

Does anyone have an idea on how to do this? He seems to be just AOEing everyone and killing them, regardless if we have people suited up or not.

Thanks!

Everyone run into the water and auto attack him.

Have high dps suit up one at a time get swallowed and kill mobs in the stomach.

Have them or anyone in a suit loot the mobs that was killed in the stomach and loot the vials from the dead mobs.

Give all the vials to high potency, casting ability <generally mage> class ...have them suit up get swallowed and blow the mob up with the vials when in the stomach.

20 pct or so need to click the idol/orb out of the water

Finsh him off with more vials or just slowly dps him down with normal damage.

Hi there, I think you're just doing it wrong.

Noone can cast any spell or combat attack on that mob as it will reflect it and kill you.

Best thing is to place everybody on the stone just in front of him, turn on autoattack and go afk or something.

Healers keep healing and curing and of course one person always needs to be ready in a fishsuit to be eaten and kill the mobs in it's stomach like it was said before.

good luck

Serene Symbol or other such dispel ability to remove the reflect.

Even though it's literally been years since I fought Levithian, my paladin's doom judgement is still macroed due to that, so that our raid's druids (and if another crusader was along, that fellow) could help time when to cast their spell as well. I left the macro on just because I like it, and well no-one has complained yet.

edit: Changed 'casting time" to 'recast time".

Only ONE person in a fish suit at a time or it's insta wipe, if I remember correctly.

Wasn't there a fail condition too if someone stepped off the sandy area onto the green stuff? Or is that just being too far away and he might have targeted them?

Also, when he gets to a certain % you have to have someone use the stone from the last boss in PR on the orb over by the wall, or he will kill you all.

Yes. I think there's a yellow line around his pool (it's been awhile although I used to help out a lot with him). You MUST be inside it if you're going to cast anything at all. If you die, you have to get back in place without casting ANYTHING. This includes heal spells or any buffs that need to be reapplied. You might take some potions. Oh yes, I think he had some sort of dot (can't remember what kind now) and we all took a big stack of potions to counteract it. The healers could usually handle it but it was nice to have a potion as a backup. Many people would just automatically pop a pot just to be sure. The DOT hit at just about the same rate as the refresh rate for the pots.

I think single target abilities were ok (at least if they reflected they only got you and not everyone). Stay away from the blue and green ones unless you know for a fact they're ok. They probably aren't.

This was one place where, in the bad old days when brawlers were otherwise useless, they could really help out since they had decent survivability vs solo mobs and some really good abilities for dispatching them (which weren't nearly as good vs epic mobs). I seem to recall I'd go in, blast one with devestation fist, kill another with knockout combo, and get ported out. The only thing which would slow me down is if I had to take some time chasing down the mobs. By the time I was up again in the rotation devestation fist would have recycled. If I needed healing while inside I had my little self-heal (it's ok to use abilities while inside). I got swallowed many many times to go in and kill his stomach mobs. I think I still have a few fish suits in my inventory.

On the other hand, Leviathan also typifies so much of what I think is wrong with the raiding scene. Multiple ridiculous fail conditions which make no sense. Raiding in EQ2 is more like choreographed dancing then it is about doing battle.

I believe that the fail AoE is also triggered if you drop below a certain DPS threshold. As I recall, this was done to keep the people on the outside auto-attacking him the entire time so his damage-shield wasn't totally pointless. Also, as I recall, his reflect ability does not affect combat arts, so fighters and scouts can be useful in that regard. Then again, it has been a really long time since I killed him, so I could be remembering wrong.

If you don't kill him within 15-20 minutes, he nukes the entire raid with a failure AOE. It hits you with an uncurable dot that crushes your gear down to 50%ish and ticks some nasty damage. I have seen it many times while farming fluids to kill him.

Having everyone go AFK except folks with high crit and healers is usually the safest answer.

swash or brigs taunt also dispells his dmg proc and its up every 15sec (no reuse buffs).

I remember dispelling his reflect ... i don't think that the raid dps matter but dispelling the reflect may allow the tank to keep taunting and dealing damage.

The encounter is soporific for the people who stay out, a bit of curing here and there and moderate healing ... zzzz

Only fun for people with suits.
