I just installed EQII on a brand new system (Win 7 x64) using the Station Launcher. Once EQII is installed the launcher runs a scan and comes back with an error stating it can not verify the file size of Ip_temp/UI/default/eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml. The file in the directory still has the .gz extension so I don't know if it isn't decompressing properly or if it's even supposed to decompress. The file is only 19KB and is listed as a GZ file.

I tried loading from the directory to make sure it wasn't a Station Launcher issue and I am getting an error stating xul.dll is missing. I'm not sure if this is a conflict with me using Firefox 4.0 or not with 3.x never having been installed on this system.

I've deleted the Ip_temp folder several times and let the Station Launcher reinstall it. I've also removed the entire directory and let the Launcher install the entire program, still getting the same errors.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Getting the same problem. Was doing a full re-install to try to fix a potentially corrupted file problem, and on patching ran into that same issue. However, I do note that both the official EQ/EQ2 sites are both unreachable, for some reason. Going to guess there is a connection, here. Been about four hours, though, so not sure what's going on.

Oh, and I'm also on a Win 7, 64 bit system, though I'm not sure that matters in this case.

Station Launcher is an older patch method of ours. While we still maintain it on the developmental end, we do recommend you make the transition to our latest LaunchPad for Everquest II available below.

The GZ file is a package, like a zip or rar, and can be extracted with most tools intended for that. What you can do is extract the specified file manually and put it in to the proper folder and that should get you past that error, but beyond that I gotta say download our latest LaunchPad below.

[EQII] LaunchPad

O.o

The reality is is that getting an MMO to run on 64bit windows is absolutely nothing like having a problem with our older patcher and being presented our latest and up to date LaunchPad.

Thanks for the heads-up on the launcher status. I hadn't heard that the StationLauncher was now passe. Went back to the original LaunchPad (since I use EQ2Map) and had no problems at all.

Hopefully the EQ2Map people will be able to work it with the streaming launcher at some point.
