Just so I dont have to start a new thead I thought I would ask a couple of questions too. I have played a troub for a while but it has been years since I played consitatnly. I have a 66ish troub that I am trying to lvl since he is my highest toon. My questions are mainly for solo questing.

What buffs/songs do you use for questing?

What is your attack rotation (melee or ranged opening)?

Thanks

I'm going to try to adress both of you and hopefully others will give their input as well.

First you need to understand your role. We are a utility class. This means that when we are in a group our group's needs come before our own. Since most of our buffs are until cancelled we do have time to dps. There is a balance that you must maintain. You'll want to do damage because while our primary function is buffing there is more to the troubador than beinga buff bot.

Second dual weilding is considered better than using a shield. Just make sure that both of your weapons have the same delay. Over all you seem to do more damage with two wepons and aside from that looking at it from an rp/lore perspective when you think of a bard how often do you picture them with a shield?

Third I'm usually duoing with my husband but for solo questing I would say rejuvenating celebration (Health song) and the power song definitly. Those two abilities don't do much really, but they do help.

Fourth for combat rotation it depends. Some times I pull with ranged, but most of the time I start with melee, but keep in mind I am almost always in a duo so my husband the monk pulls. Someone who solos might have more insight on this one.

Depends on your style, the difficulty of the mobs you are soloing and your gear and aa's.

For soloing I'd say make sure you have Aria of Magic and Allegretto running along with Rousing Celebration, Graceful Avoidance and Song of Magic.

You should not need the power regen song while soloing. If you do you are killing way too slowly and need to rethink your aa's/gear selection.

Run good food and drink.

For solo questing at lower levels you may wish to play with the roundshield spec now that Multiattack is universal. You will be using your bow as your primary means of killing (if you are smart) so learn how to kite. Between the stun, charm, mezz a decent bow and a bit of practice there isn't much you cant kill.

You will not kill as quickly as other classes but you'll find that with some finesse you can do just fine.
