Wandering through the frozen tundras I happened across the corpse of a messenger... He was carrying this! Enjoy.GninjaTo Kraytoc, Master of Rime -It has come to my attention that the potential prison for Lord Yelinak has become compromised and Vuh’Duh has been slain by meddlesome adventurers. We believe they were hired by the coldain to destroy our prison and return the Ascent back into the realm of life. We have also learned that the powerful relic believed to be a shard of Veeshan’s claw has been returned to the place we originally found it. The reports that the shard had been stolen by the coldain must have been true. This has rendered the area unusable for our experiments to contain the powerful ice dragon. We have setup a new housing for this experiment within your fortress to ensure it is not disturbed and we will be more able to keep a watchful eye. We have also procured a specimen to run the experiments on - a young ice dragon by the name of Eireen which was found wandering in the Wastes near the Sleeper’s Tomb ruins. Our plan is to break this dragon and see if the prison in the fortress can contain him. If the experiments work with him it would be safe to assume they should work on a much more powerful dragon as long as we adjust it accordingly.I will report further should something change. At this time I will return to the mess hall and keep on guard for any agents of the coldain to attempt to break into the fortress. There I will remain until the time where you feel I can be of assistance elsewhere.Duncan BradaganRime Captain

Was pretty sure the in-game emote refers to Eireen as female?

If it does, that is a bug. Eireen is male.

Thanks for posting this, Gninja! It's nice to know a little bit about why the Rime have a dragon imprisoned.

Yeah, it does sound feminine -- or are we mispronouncing it, Gninja? Is "Eireen" pronounced like "Irene?"

It's pronounced "Aye - ReeeN" but at the end you have to stomp your foot and snarl. That's how you do dragon names iirc.

There's your lore on Eireen the Broken.

This jives with the story from the Order of Rime quests where it becomes apparent at the end that they are seeking to remove Yelinak from the picture.

Since yelniak is the most powerful dragon they can get othe rthen the sleeper.

Although when they mentioned the ice dragon i kept thinking of Vrexx in icy keep. Is yelniak an ice dragon as well?

Also wrong translated in German:

"Eireen die Gebrochene"

"die" being the Female version as opposed of "der" which would be male. In english you would just say "Eireen the Broken".

Regards, theriatis.

When translating they typically look at the NPC's set gender and it was set incorrectly. Eirreen should be pronounced (Eye reen) But it isn't be the first time a feminine sounding name was used for a male character. From concept all the way up he was intended to be male. Thus the broad stature of the model.

There are even names which have gone male to female to male in various generations.

well I bet the Coelessence of Life used on Kera would certainly work...or on Yelniak.

although there's no mention of trying to catch Kera in it anyway. just that the broken dragon they have was found near the ruins of his tomb. Still looks like thier plan is to capture Yelniak.

Maybe their plan will alter to "You guys keep the really dangerous dwarves and those pesky adventurers busy while I grab the helpless looking old guy studying the Coalessence and his research material." which ends in hilarious results (i.e. you get to first hand witness what a near god-like being with an extreme amount of magical knowlege does to someone that threatens his research in person.)
