I have been sampling EQIIx as a Bronze member. My husband and I are thinking about changing our main gaming to Everquest, but I'm a bit confused about the differences; i.e., is subscribing as a Gold EQIIx member, the same as subscribing to EQII?

Also, I'm a little baffled about the differences between an EQIIx Silver sub, versus a Gold sub. The differences seem to be relatively minor and you still have to pay for ingame stuff as a Gold subscriber? I don't get that. Is there no monthly SC currency that comes with a Gold Membership?

Please help me understand this.

To start, first let me make sure you understand that Everquest II and Everquest II Extended are entirely seperate products. They do not share characters or servers. An Everquest II subscription will not get you Extended Access. Likewise, an Extended Membership will not allow you access to the Live servers.

Here is the link for the Everquest II Extended membership matrix. It should answer all of your questions regarding the membership features for each level.

[EQIIx] Membership Matrix

I completely understand they are seperate. I understand the matrix you linked me too. How is the game itself different.... EQII and EQIIx? Where can I find the subscription options for EQII?

The subscription matrix you linked is confusing. Why would someone pay $15.00 per month for the same game and still have to buy in-game stuff? There is no mention of a monthly stipend of SC currency that comes with that. The differences between Silver and Gold seem relatively minor A few more bank and character slots, but nothing that seems to warrant paying $15.00 per month instead of a one time fee of $10.00. What am I missing?

Thank you.

A silver member has many limitations such as 4 character slots, expert level spells, and restricted equipment gades. If you also look under feature access, you'll see the coin limitations, bag slots, shared bank slots, active journal quests, and broker system. Then there is the level of support available for you. That is what seperates Silver and Gold features.

With Everquest II live, our subscriptions start at $14.99 per month, and increase in term length with additional per month savings.

Only the Platinum Extended membership gives you a monthly Station Cash bonus and is shown in the very first row on the membership matrix.

Thank you so much Joshua. I really do appreciate your attention to this. In looking it over, I guess the Gold subscription does add a substantial amount to the game play.

Now I guess I need to find out if I want Everquest II or Everquest IIx. Looks like I've got my reading assignment to do. Thanks again Joshua.
