That little tidbit and the velious preview story surrounding the race that very very VERY vaguely associates you with Tserrina Syl'Tor is all there is about the race. They didn't put lore into the planning of this race. They just wanted a vampire race with no full explanation what or why they are.

I really do wish that they had a bigger anchor in the game and lore....because I really do think the Freebloods look cool. I love the battle roar, the bat transportation, and the house.

They need some kind of intro and starting area...or a book....or a lore item.......something....anything...

>_<

If i recall correctly the D'Ryil Vampire clan was doing some kind of experiments to make the "ultimate vampire" that had all the strengths of a vampire but who could also walk in the light not be allergic to garlic so on and so forth but what happened with sarkon was he cud walk in the light but wasnt subserviant to the clan and didnt have the super strenght vampires have, he escaped and it was he who tricks us to go to the house in LP for halloween. so if your a freeblood its cuz of him. but yea D'Ryil's experiments had something to do with what happened to Tserina and Mayong or whatever

I do hope that when he NotD rolls around again, they add something different for those Freeblood who do the quests. It would look stupid to have Sarkon run up and attack us, turning vampires into vampires.

There is little to no history at all. All the Freebloods were Everquest 2's shot at WoW's Worgen, atleast in my opinion.

I still liked my on the fly five-minutes-of-effort lore to their reactionary schlock to justify their new marketing gimmick:

Origins of the FreebloodLike many of the great changes that have come to sweep over Norrath, the origins of theFreeblood vampires lie interestingly enough in the actions of a handful of ambitious adventurers. Whenthe noble Koada’dal Marcus Thex, a champion of the mysterious Freethinkers was discovered in thedepths of the Evernight Abbey; he had been made into that which he had sworn to destroy. Cursed withthe existence he and his Freethinker companions had so valiantly fought, the valiant Koada’dal battledwith the desperate urge to end his own existence. Such a valiant spark of life cannot easily be stampedout though, even when shrouded in darkness. Unlike some thralls of Mistmoore, Marcus still held thegift given to all the creations of the Gods; the gift of choice. Thus Marcus became the first vampirechampion of the Freethinkers, bringing light to the darkness and setting an example of hope and valorfor those around him.Though cursed to carry on his fight in the shadows, Marcus was regarded as the champion he hadalways been by his Freethinker comrades. Though there were those among the Freethinkers who lookedat the more practical elements of Marcus’ “affliction”; they saw it as an opportunity to use Mayong’svery gift against him and his ilk. Despite his acceptance of his own cursed existence, Marcus abhorredthe idea of allowing anyone to share in his cursed immortality. Nonetheless many of the Freethinkers, particularly the more youthful and some would say foolhardy, volunteered to be “turned” by MarcusThex. The enthusiasm and compassion of some touched Marcus’ spirit, yet also touched on some darkurge that resided within him. So it was that the sun set on a group of young Freethinkers, and the nightembraced them. It was within that same group that one young woman jokingly coined the name for thenewly born vampires; “Freeblood”.The Freebloods proved themselves to be worthy of their gift, earning a reputation for bravery andferocity in dealing with the abominations the Freethinkers continued to fight in the shadows of Norrath.Vampire fought vampire on a level playing ground and even Marcus began to lose doubt in his decisionto allow this. Despite this, not all were comfortable to fight side by side with vampires. Though theFreethinkers had become more well known and their deeds celebrated by fellow champions of Qeynosand Kelethin, even the most tolerant were reluctant to accept the Freebloods. Some worried that theywould succumb to the urges typical to their kind, while others argued that they were different from theunnatural creatures the Freethinkers hunted and their sacrifice was something noble and to be admired.Ultimately the Freebloods expanded both within and outside of the Freethinker ranks; becoming apowerful presence in the world of Norrath. As with Lord Marcus Thex, the Freeblood vampires werebeings with the ability to choose their path. As these new vampires spread, many chose to forge theirown path outside of the Freethinkers; though they continued to identify themselves by the name Freeblood. Thus the Norrathian cities were faced with an odd dilemma, as vampires of other factions who hadrebelled against the designs of their makers flocked to the freedom this new group represented. Thevampire had stepped out of the shadows and into the cities, taverns, and inns of Norrath.

But, he was possessed of free will, not bound to the bloodline or his 'maker' in any manner.

they were going to keep him until they got bored, basically..and he escaped. which worried them more because he did it in full daylight.

Sarkon was the one that lured us into the NoTD house....and apparently, there were many that tried and failed and died to do what we did. they became Freebloods. keeping Sarkon's unique traits.

wether or not Sarkon is 'dead' in the canon is debatable, but Neriak's D'ryil clan seems to have assimilated the 'freebloods' into itself for the most part, which would be a reason why you are not KoS at Hate's Envy.

though considering the origin of the freeblood...your 'lair' is probably actually in Somborn. in one of the tombs, I would assume.

I personally think your Freebloods lore is up to you. I figured since the process seems to work on elves and humans why wouldn't it work on a half-elf? So as my freebloods background she was born a half-teir'dal (Half Dark-elf) she was kidnapped and experimented on and thus turned into Freeblood. I was able to shrink her ears so she does look like a half-elf. As for the reveal inner demon part that shows up when she's angry although she doesn't acknowledge the "skinny orc" as being in any way related to her. So if you want your Freeblood to be human it can be, if you want them to be an elf they can be, half-elf why not?
