Just have a problem and a question...

<p>Hi all,</p> <p>Since I the help and KB is kind of ubber shi*, and I cannot find a solution for my problem I decided to type my question here. This is a billing question and not the tech question. I went to KB and looked for "Ask Question" tab but cannot see it, and even email confirmation and other stuff are not working. I am not trying to be rude to anyone, but my 1st impression as a customer is: This whole thing sucks!</p> <p>I hope you guys fix the issue in regards of getting help. Anyways....</p> <p>I created an Extended account, then purchased a game from Steam (today), used my key to activate, and added my CC info. Now I have two accounts ACTIVE...one is EQII and another one is EQII Extended...now what account am I using now? I have used my user name and password I created with extended account and I was not asked to create nor link my account to the paid account. In addition, I think you should guys add PayPal option as not everyone have a CC. I do, but I would rather use CC or Pre-Paid Game Cards that I can purchase from Sony and not some random company (also I am from Canada).</p> <p>Hope my question is clear and I do get this thing fixed or resolved.</p> <p>Thank you very much!</p><p>P.S. <p>are you wanting to play on EQ2x or EQ2?  if its EQ2x, then this is the forum for you:  <a rel="nofollow" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2x/forums/show.m?forum_id=39. " target="_blank">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2x...um_id=39. </a> perhaps you purchased the wrong sub.</p><p>if you do want to play on EQ2, then you can still access your EQ2x characters but you wont find them on any of these servers as there is a seperate launcher & game, so you'll be starting fresh.</p><p>whether you wanted EQ2 or EQ2x is irrelevant to the purchase of velious bc buying it for one allows you to use it for both versions.</p>

<p>There are two different launchers, as EQ2X and EQ2 are in many ways considered two seperate games.</p><p>All of the below are based on a lot of assumptions:</p><ul><li>I am guessing that originally - you created an eq2x account through an SOE official site</li><li>I am then assuming you went to STEAM to purchase the latest expansion - Destiny of Velious - and downloaded it THROUGH STEAM.  </li></ul><p>The download from STEAM probably came with the EQ2 launcher.  The EQ2X "account" that you created is ALSO an eq2 live account,  so when you launched the game - it prompted you to pay 15 dollars a month before you could log in.</p><p>In order to play on EQ2X you HAVE TO DOWNLOAD the EQ2X launcher and game:  <a href="http://launch.soe.com/eq2x/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://launch.soe.com/eq2x/</a></p><p>this will put a second version of everquest2 on your computer in a totally different directory.</p><p>Once you download EQ2X - you can log into that launcher with the same "account" that you used to log into after you downloaded the game from STEAM.</p><p>If you truly want to play on EQ2X - i would call SOE customer support and ask that the $15/m you paid for the "live" subscription be turned into a ONE MONTH membership for "gold" access on EQ2X.   I would then ask them to make sure that the Destiny of Velious product key that you received with the STEAM download is applied to the EQ2X version of the game as well as the "live" version of the game.</p><p>After SOE customer service helps you transfer the eq2live subscription to an eq2x membership - you should only and always log into the EQ2X launcher if you only want to play on extended....</p><p>anyway - just my 2cp based on some assumptions :)</p>

What server to use and is Steam launcher EQ2?</p></blockquote><p>what server type do you want to play on?  only you can answer that.  in brief:</p><ul><li>EQ2x<ul><li>lots of younger aged players</li><li>play without the grind as you can buy your armor, your harvestables, rares, etc</li><li>mostly mid level players atm but give it another few months and it will be mostly cap level with alts (similar to EQ2-live)</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>EQ2-live<ul><li>mostly college aged players with a variety of some older and some young players</li><li>you must earn everything as you cannot buy things to elminate the grind</li><li>mostly high end players with a lot of ppl starting new alts and some new players to the game</li></ul></li></ul><p>if you want EQ2x, then log in & see if it tells you to GO GOLD OR UPGRADE TO SILVER.  if it does, then you need to /petition within EQ2-live to ask abt transferring your sub to EQ2x.  you could try from EQ2x; however, if you have a bronze sub, you cannot send in petitions.  again, either way -- your velious copy is active for BOTH EQ2x & EQ2.</p><p>if you want EQ2-live and can log in, then you are set.  if you cannot, then you'll have to petition from within EQ2x to get your $15 applied here.</p>

<p>I have played the game for 2h now and it is ok...I am sure I will fall in love with it in time. Anyways, I am using Live account via Steam. Anyways, after 2h of play I took some rest, and now want to do it again. When I launch the game...the launcher will show up with SOE logo and will not go to the page where I can see "Play" button. I deleted the game and re-downloaded from Steam, but still same thing. I am not interested in DLing the game again through the client as it is 12Gigz, plus it defeats the purpose of me buying it through Steam. I also saved the backup files and tried to reinstall, but nothing. Any tip how I can fix this? Very disappointed with the experience so far.</p><p>Oh and tyvm for all the replys!</p>

Very disappointed with the experience so far.</p><p>Oh and tyvm for all the replys!</p></blockquote><p>We will always recommend you use our LaunchPad and do not use a third party provider to download our game such as Steam.  It works for most people who use it and we won't force you to stop using Steam (and have no intention to) but we can't quite help you with issues that it introduces since it does not use our current up to date LaunchPad.</p>
