Tinkering Could be Exciting... Some Ideas

<p>It doesn't make sense that the craft that has the most potential for being fun and mentally engaging is in fact the most boring and mindnumbing.</p><p>I've been thinking about the types of Projects that would be fun for Tinkerers if they had missions (what else can you do but daydream while button mashing Tinker levels?) It seems to me that Tinkering has great potential for really interesting quests. Of course you can seek parts, power sources, intelligence sources, magical attributes and just plain odd stuff. You can seek knowledge and formulae. You can blow things up trying to "make it work" (and other strange side effects that you might have to go find a cure for.) Anything can happen when you try your invention out. Of course you could do commissioned work for some client and then have to go install it. You might have to repair a broken whatsit or invent a replacement. And so on...</p><p>Just wishing!</p>

<p><span style="color: #00cc00;">Change the Snot-flinger into a Crossbow(usability based solely on tinkering level) and be able to tinker up trick-shots for them (Snot-shots, whirl till hurl shots etc)</span></p><p><span style="color: #00cc00;">Have some of these items actually useful instead of a distraction would be nice too. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></span></p>

<p>I agree... blowing things up (including yourself) is easily the epitome of Tinkerer entertainment. I was a little disappointed that I didn't kill myself when I set off a charge in Demon's Delve and didn't get away in time. That used to be half the fun of blowing up exploding kegs.</p><p>You know the Forge used to have the highest kill ratio in the game...</p>

<p>I love the tinkering "missed countering event" emotes too.  Would be great if they had one for steam coming out of your ears, maybe a temper tantrum if you miss three in a row, ...lots of potential there.</p>

<p>There is a tinkerer quest line on the Thur' Docks. I just stumbled accross it tonight. It was fairly quick with about 6 quests for tinkering and each one gave 2000 faction with the Iceclad Pirates.</p>
