Hey guys was thinking of starting up my account again. Use to play pvp but going to give pve a shot to be a little more casual. What class is in demand? Was thinking of going Templar maybe. Also what's a good populated server? Thought of trying out an RP server since people are usually very helpful there.

What do you all think?

Go AB and inquisitor if you want to try a healer. Server because they've got the best hardware of all servers.

Inq, because they're better at solo then a templar which means easier to level.

I second the recommendation on Inquisitor. Definitely a super healer and yet very able to solo and be independent. Must build AAs for their strengths, though: even more important than gear and spell upgrades IMHO.

As for server, make a character at your normal play time, see which servers are highest load. AB will usually be up there at or near top. And yes its newer hardware has mitigated their lag issues nicely.

Send me a private tell (I'm on Everfrost) if you do start an inquisitor and want advice.

Good advice thanks! Ended up making a Mystic on the AB serve you guys recommended, a lot of nice helpful people there.

I'm a new player as well, looking at playing a tank.

Any recommendtions on race/class.

Kinda leaning towards Iksar/Troll Guardian.

Race doesn't really matter since racial traits are insignificant.

I wouldn't suggest Guardian as 1st class if you've never played before. There are friendlier classes to play as a newcomer. You'll most likely be soloing through the lower levels so playing a more rounded class will be much easier. Bruiser/Monk/SK/Paladins are a bit easier to survive with since they have heals/feign death (-Paladin).

Well I'm not too worried about the learning curve, been tanking for 12+ years just want something that will be solid at late game. Biggest issue I see is finding groups of people while I level up to get a feel for aggro / pull mechanics

How would SK compare Guardian to tank/dps wise

Agonizing wrote:

How would SK compare Guardian to tank/dps wise

There is no comparison. SK's are far better DPS wise than a Guardian. Guardians are close to the bottom of the tank DPS list.

I would recommend a Paladin or Shadowknight.
