Hi,

just a little bit of background:

I bought and installed DoV. I had some problems with it (using an old launcher) so i decided to give the new onea try (downloaded it from here: http://launch.soe.com/installer/EQ2_Full_setup.exe&nbsp.

Someone told me that the old *.pak based system will be outdated in the Future and in some time no longer supported, so i deinstalled EQ2, rebooted, saved my ini and UI Files, cleaned the rest of the Installation in every Directory i could find (even the hidden ones), cleaned the Registry, rebooted again and installed it.

Aaaaaand... it downloaded the Paks.

Ok, i converted them with the pakconvert.exe to assetcaches and started the game. It ran wonderful. After a good nights raid i shut down the PC... only to start it up next day and... it tried to download the paks again. (Luckily i saved them on my backupdisk).

So. What am i doing wrong ? Is there any hidden Registry Setting which i missed where its stating "He only gets Paks !! No Asset Cache for him !!)

Regards, theriatis.

The Full version of our LaunchPad 3 uses the PAK/VPK file structure by design.

Only the streaming iteration uses the asset_cache folder.

Hi,

thanks ! Now off to smacking some guildmates for the wrong Information and the double-work i had...

Shall we just upgrade to the Launchpad 3 (even if its the Pak based one) or shall we go directly to the streaming launcher, which uses the assets ? (Just want to make sure that i wasn't fed more wrong Information as i was told that the Pak System will not be supported in the Future).

Regards, theriatis.
