Greetings fellow crafters! I'm looking for info on the cotextual background of the items included in the Bristlebane's Memories collection. The results of this research I would like to turn into a series of books available for others to read in-game. Naturally all sources of information will be credited to those who provided it.

But since the goal of this project is to fill a book for each item of the collection and contextual info can only go so far, I'd also like to collect anecdotes, preferredly in-character, from those who played at the time these still existed in the game. If you provide contextual information or offer a story for one of the books, please include the name for which you'd like to be credited as. If you'd simply like to reminisce and do not wish to be published, please say so in your post.

For those who haven't done the Bristlebane's Memories collection or would just like a refresher, the topics up for discussion are:

Fossil TemperDandy Elm QuillAbandoned Tradeskill Society LedgerWealthy Alchemist's PocketbookDreak's Tin SpikeCanine Saliva TeaLegendary PepperFungus NodeA Homicidal ForgeInvisible Alder BookcasePristine Bonus

But what a fun project to collect stories also, keep us updated on the progress of the book!

For some reason, I always forget that I can do that. I'm sure it will be a big help in my research. I'll keep this thread updated with progress on the book or books as progess is made.

You may want to consider a book based on the reward of the collection quest, the golden meat bucket. It's based, I assume, of the poor carpenter who leveled prior to the writ system when carpenters had WAY fewer recipies and the only way to level was to creat the same few items over and over and over and over and over. The levels in te 50's were especially harsh.

Orcish Meat Bucket (not golden) was removed due to numerous complaints...even more complaints were made after it was removed but dev remained unmoved.

...I think I have one of the origionals in my main's house still...

Certain crafting devs use to dream of Golden Meat Buckets...

Abandoned Tradeskill Society Ledger

Long Live the Greystone Township! On Antonia Bayle it became Tradeskill society level 5 before the system was removed. It had the only Wholeseller that would offer to sell tier 5 WORTS. Tradeskill societies gained levels based on the number of writs done for the society. Greystone Township gained a huge number of levels early on due to the popularity of harvesting writs. Even after harvesting writs were removed Greystone Township continued to level faster than the rest due to people joining it to gain the benifits of the higher level Wholeseller. Success breeds greater success.

Eventually WORTS and other subcomponents were removed. At the same time Tradeskill societies were removed and access to the high tier societies were completely blocked (farewell to the Mind's Eye) and only the beginning tradeskill societies can be access now. Society faction was reimbursed to older crafters as status and crafting writs were changed to give city faction and status.

Worts went with LU26.
