Ok I have not played in a bit, and am wondering if it is the same old story when it comes to necros and conjs for raid and dungeon group spots. IE them not being wanted what so ever. If any one has any news on how they are being treated now days it would be nice.

Most people that are not ACT tightwads invite anyone to group. I have never had a problem since I know how to play my class to dps.

As long as you accept that Summoners are DPS classes and not utility classes you're fine. You have to bring what any other DPS class brings or you won't get invited. It's that simple.

Summoners are doing a whole lot better this expansion due to the fact that your pet now shares all of your stats like Crit Chance, Crit Bonus, Potency, etc.

I think it's been a couple of expansions since Summoners were "not wanted whatsoever." I raided with a Necro in SF that would put others to shame if they weren't on top of their game.

Summoner are much better off now than they were pre-Velious. I have had no problems getting groups since the revamp, and my Conjuror normally fills a full time raid slot. (I say normally because occasionally we are short on plate healers and I play my Templar).

On raids, Conjy's are right up there with the Wizards on most fights. My Necro has seen a dramatic boost in her power since the expansion too, and she's not even my best geared toon hehe! Now that folks realize the type of damage a well-played Summoner can do, I've had no problem whatsoever getting groups.

Our guild has both a necro and a conjy in raid. Warlock tops the ZW followed by the Conjy, Necro is usually 5th. However quite a few fights the conjy is #1 on the parse.... and other times he is #2 but still almost half the damage of our lock (180k vs 100k hah).

It comes down to knowing how and what to cast, your gear, and what classes you are grouped with.
