In preperation for the upcoming housing changes, I had my newest character get the Everfrost Summer Home. I am finding the 400 item limit really restricting though, so I used a player made expander to increase the item count to 500.

My question: I know that there are two expanders on the marketplace and that the 200 item expander has to be used last as the other one cannot be applied if an equal or larger expander has already been used. Does the player made expander count as equal to the marketplace one? Or can I use both to increase my item count to 800?

I Believe you can use both. Use the player made first, the lesser # market one second, and the largest market one last.

At least, I remember reading that somewhere. I'm sure someone will reply soon who knows for certain

Thanks for the quick reply!

I have added 3 floors to the central room and all those tiles add up.

It shame that they can't come up with a user friendly method of imparting that knowledge to casual players who are constantly getting misinformation from channel chat and don't frequent the forums.

Or maybe just let them all stack so as to avoid the problem in the first place?

It still amazes me that Sony has not made the two (+100 & +200) expanders stackable. They have no clue how many people would pop the extra cash for that extra 100 items. Potential easy cash cow w/ just a little scripting. I personally would KILL for the extra 100 item count in Rhyme's home to finish it off w/ a more "lived-in" feeling w/o having to chop off another room structure.

So Sony..PLEASE just make it happen !!!

Only one purchased expander may be applied per character; however, it can be used in addition to the crafted Dimensional Pocket Expander. Purchasing and applying a larger or equivalent Personal House Item Limit Expander will replace the smaller one, not add to it (and have no effect on the effect of crafted expanders)."

We tried to make it very clear what would stack with what, but it's a bit complicated to explain. If anybody has a better suggestion on how to rephrase this more clearly we would be happy to hear it! Definitely we want to make this as clear as possible.

Honestly Domino, I would just get rid of the smaller SC expander - it seems like a waste of money. Baring that, I would add the following to each description:

"This expander does not stack with any other Marketplace items that affect house item count."

What I am wondering is when we get multi houses if the marketplace expander will apply to every house that character owns, I would think it has to since it is attached to YOU and not your house as the crafted one is?

Domino says here:

DominoDev wrote:

Jazabelle@Antonia Bayle wrote:

Casiphia@Guk wrote:

i'm hoping the SC expander is 1 per character & applies to all homes lol

Yes, this is what I meant. Once per character, not once per home.

...posting before the brain officially wakes up is never a good idea...

OK, I have an answer on the station marketplace purchased house expanders and multiple homes.

Once multiple homes are introduced, the expanders will apply per house; so, if you have two houses and want extra house items in each, you'll have to buy separate expanders for each, just like the carpenter-made ones.

However, since many decorating fans will no doubt want to maximize the item count of every house you own (don't deny it! I know who you are! ) we plan to significantly lower the price of the Station Marketplace expanders once multiple houses are introduced, to make it much more affordable if you do want to go crazy with your house item count. So there is your answer.

And before someone asks, still no firm date on the multiple houses, but our fabulous code team is hard at work and we're all eager to get it out there as soon as it's ready.
