PQ ramblings

<p>We've been doing a fair number of x4 of the Ring War PQ - it's fun, I really like the concept - no pressure raiding while giving everyone an opportunity for some decent gear.  We've ran maybe ten of them so everyone has had a number of  chances at the put your hand in the reward chest  - close your eyes, cross your fingers and pull out a grab bag - hoping for the best. </p><p>There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to who gets what.  Some get the disappointing 'you are not entitled to loot anything (don't get me started on that one - that is, without a doubt the most unfair thing I've seen in all my years of EQ playing)  ..'  while some get a rune, a master, a weapon or a 'prevalent armor piece'.  For the most part, the bit of suspense in finding out what you got is fun - but - always a but.</p><p>Micki now has 2 Breastplates of Woe, my coercer has 2 Rod of Ruinations while other players get squat (or close to it). This game has the ability to offer 'smart' loot - this would be an absolute opportune place to use it.  Maybe not all smart loot but at least the rare drops - it's just so unfair that I have extra while others get none.</p>

<p>I guess I am a lucky one.</p><p>I got a full set of the better armor, my class weapon and three runes total for  a couple evenings ( 4 hours each) and a whole weekend..from morning till late evening worth of my time.</p><p>I have no idea how many PQ I did. I simply join which ever one was going on, then hopped over to wait for the next.I did have beter luck in the gear department when I was in instance 2 or even 3. where there was enough people to make up at least 1 x4 raid group...maybe 2 raid groups. Unlike what instance 1 normaly had which was 2-3 (possibly more) raids going on at each PQ.</p><p>In other words, it did not take a whole of my time to get fully geared, get a nice weapon and a few runes. Also I think the instances where there are NOT a ton of people also helped in the randomness of what I did get. I did have a bit of problem at the Ring war instance getting the better gear chest to drop for me, untill I swung away from the main targets and went after the small groups that spawn around the ring war area. Seems my dps counted more that way, though I am not 100%. I do know that I never had a problem getting the better gear chests at the Storm Gate PQ but then again that is a longer fight than the Ring War and I am able to score up more dps during those longer fights.</p>
