View Full Version : Should launcher/patcher still have Sentinel's Fate graphics after DoV?

<p>This probably has to do with the fact that I installed Sentinel's Fate using the Retail CD when it came out and purchased the Digital Collector's Edition of DoV?</p><p>I have no problems playing DoV content or actually logging into or patching the game as best I can tell; however, I am curious if the Launcher/Patcher should be using DoV graphics instead of the previous expansion's. I thought it would patch itself more or less.</p><p>By the way, this is what I run to start the game via the icon that was installed on my desktop: "<strong>C:GamesEverQuest IIEQ2.exe</strong>".</p><p>The game itself is installed to: <strong>C:GamesEverQuest II </strong></p><p>Thanks!</p>

<p>I believe you are simply using an older patch method.  Our latest LaunchPad is available on the link below.</p><p><a href="http://launch.soe.com/eq2 " target="_blank">[EQII] LaunchPad</a></p>

OK, I downloaded the Full Install version as I want the game to be completely patched with no extra processes running in the background while I play. My system has a hard enough time just playing the game by itself. I am going to tell it to install into the same directory C:GamesEverQuest II. Is it going to re-download everything even if I already have the correct files? I looked in my Add/Remove programs and noticed "EverQuest II: Play the Fae" and "EverQuest II: The Shadow Odyssey" from previous expansion installations. Since I've always installed these into the same place, I haven't worried about it. Guess I just want a better understanding of what this is going to do before I click "next". Thanks

<p>Both options will get you the LaunchPad for Everquest II.</p><p>Selecting FULL will result in a 12GB+ download as it contains all of the game files in the package.</p><p>Selecting Streaming will result in a very small download of just the LaunchPad itself without any of the game files.  The game files will begin to download once you log in but will allow you to play while it does.</p>

I've installed it and run the game using it. Went to play the game again and noticed that my character select just shows Create New Character with a blank face. I thought after playing the first time it would build a list of characters to pick to bypass the Character Select screen, like the drop-down list did before. While I don't play LoN, I do check monthly for new packs to see if there are any loot cards. Should I have LoN checked in the options screen? Thanks

<p>Make sure you are connecting to the correct region if your account already has existing characters.  Such as the NA or EU servers for instance.</p><p>Checking that LoN box will let you enter LoN while in-game as opposed to having to download the stand-alone client to log in and play LoN.</p>

Does this LaunchPad.exe not use that file?</p>

<p>That files controls the character select screen itself, in game.</p><p>The data on the LaunchPad is read directly from the server.  There are known issues with it preventing it from displaying your characters which I suffer from as well.  My work PC works fine, I can see my main character there.  At home it is blank and I have to log in to character select first.  It's an issue that is being worked on and may be what you are experiencing as well.</p>
